I know I know.... WTF!!!? I know they are the worst wheels ever in the history of ever... But for $150, that makes them cheaper than I initially paid for my CV meshies.

My little pile of wheels and half of my roommate's wheel collection in the background.

Yeah, I've got some sanding to do... They are curb rashed to hell... But no cracks.

So I was going to hydro dip my wheels wood grain, but I wanted it to be straight wood grain because I don't like burl wood. But I decided on the carbon fiber kit since I don't plan on keeping them very long. Hopefully its here before next weekend. I'm stoked.

One wheel is wet sanded and scuffed. Just need to take an orbital to the curb rash then clean it and it will be ready to dip. Got my dip kit in today... But not before FedEx damaged it and almost fucked it up...

What I saw when I returned from the trim supply store.

The film is 19.5" wide and I need every bit of that to dip my wheels. I was SOOO pissed. But it turns out I was equally as lucky.
OMFG

Had to get some "High spec" bonded nylon thread (The good shit) and some foam to start my front seats today. I went with the softest 1/4" foam they had... which also happens to be the most expensive... But you can't put a price on comfort.
SUPER BRIGHT PIC!

The BMW is finally gone. Unless he wants his door panels wrapped, but then he'll be paying. It won't be something I got roped into on a deal that went sour. The whole fiasco was started because my nephew traded the interior to a kid that owned a vert. They BOTH thought the bottom of the back seat would fit in his car. The kid owns 9 BMW's including 2 verts. My nephew is not an idiot, so I knew he knew it wouldn't fit... He just wanted the car lift and wheels. So as to not screw anyone, told him I won't redo it, but I will swap out the centers and make the rest of it as presentable as possible. This is what came out... Notice the original seat they thought would fit, behind it.

Knocked down the curb rash in preparation to be DIPPED!

One wheel ready to start the process... If I have enough energy after work tomorrow I'm going to clean it, scuff it, clean it, prep-all, then prime it. Oh, and cut the valve stem out lol

I should have done a lot of things different... But thank God I did a test piece. I'm thinking about trying a white base coat to lighten it up. Instead of wasting material on something I'd throw away, I did part of my cell phone case.

Before and after.

After rinsing, waiting to dry so I could clear it.

You can see where my hand wasn't steady, you can see where I changed my direction, downward as I was dipping it. Practice makes perfect.

After one more phone case and one wheel, I am out of primer. Also found out my container will not work. Going to the local feed store to buy a trough. If I can't find anything there for a reasonable price, I may resort to buying a kiddy pool.

To be Continued.

Plans have changed. It seems impossible to cover the whole wheel without it getting too distorted. So I think I'm going to try to just do the centers. May not even go with carbon fiber. Might go with camo or wood grain, as I originally planned. I think it would work splendidly on wheels without lips or crevices that would create air bubbles.

I started sewing the microsuede to the foam, but somehow my sewing machine has fallen out of adjustment beyond my control. So I need to call someone to show me how to fix it tomorrow.

Test wheel.

After using it more. If you're curious about it, I strongly suggest trying it. It's fun if nothing else. But the primer/paint is on par with duplicolor. So save yourself a little money and only buy the activator and film.
