What a waste of money

I guess I'll start one of these.

Bought the car when a drunk driver hit my truck.

It was neglected, and unreliable.... And it had a JWT ECU so it was probably abused too, even for an automatic.

Then it was hit in a taco bueno parking lot and the dbag drove off while I was inside. Bought a JY bumper and tail light... My friend's grandpa insisted he would have his shop fix it ( I thought for next to free) They charged me $200 to fuck up a piece of the body above my tail light trying to pull it out and put the bumper I bought on.

Then I replaced some sensors, "fixed" some dents and tried to rattlecan it, but it came out terrible.

Then I put a pedobear sticker on it and fixed the brakes...

One caliper was seized and ended up ruining pads and caliper.

Then God took a shit on my car in the form of 5" hail

Then my friend fixed my windshield wiper assembly by heating up one of those little plastic caps and remoulding it around the ball joint it's supposed to hold on to (because it kept popping off)

Then I replaced the waterpump, radiator, trans cooler, t-stat, upper hose and converted to efans. I also installed an air/oil separator (the little blue thing near the valve cover) I didn't buy the right one the first time around because it didn't have a baffle. It worked to keep oil from going into the intake from the valve cover on my friend's honda and mustang... But even after I replaced the one in the pic with the right one, it still didn't catch oil. Guess KA's don't have the same problem SBF's and SOHC honda's do.

Then my friend found an exhaust on a 240 in the JY for $10 and we replaced my rusted muffler

Then I bought some CV meshies fr $200 from a JY

Then I took off those nasty grand am wheels and put on my ballin on a budget rims

Oh and last summer I started a fiberglass speaker box to house one 15" sub. Still haven't finished it but once I do, I've got a buddy that wants to chrome illusion it... So use your imagination

And then Ive laid most of the fiberglass, but still need to reinforce a few spots, So more pics when I get around to that.

Then I bought some new ISIS stuff from a kid that "lost" his car before he could install them... $250

Now I can bend corners like a Cadillac with my ballin ass pearl burgundy arms...


Then I spent a month or so pushing dents and doing bodywork. Made a sub $10 paint booth and prepped it for paint.... Now I'm just waiting for it to be warm enough to paint. I couldn't get the hood perfect... But I must say, the car looks 1000 times better than it did. I couldn't get a dent out in the very front of the hood, nor could I get it to fit right on the left side... But fuck it (lol I said but fuck) If I ever decide to do a baller paintjob then I'll buy a baller hood.... Until then, this car is meant to be nothing more than fun.

Plans:

When weather allows: Chalkboard paint
This payday: Coilovers
When I'm done painting: Alignment
Then I'll be gathering parts for my 5 speed swap. Once all parts are acquired, I save.... Once I have enough, I send the engine and trans to their respective shops to be rebuilt. While that is happening, I start the 5spd swap. When I get the motor and trans back, I put them in and break them in as I acquire parts for turbo (which I already have a FMIC, an assortment of 2.5" and 3" piping, possibly a BNIB t3t4 and a few other cheap things I'm probably not going to use so I'm not going to get into specifics)

going to get the title tomorrow and the car on Monday. I want to keep it but may have to fix it and sell it. My roommate is being a dick about me having 3 cars when he gets home because he will have 3 cars (2 of which don't run and one is a shell on Jack stands now that the engine is going in his only running vehicle) but I'm not the home owner and I'm getting a good deal on living here, so I don't have a leg to stand on. I have until summer to fix/ drive it. then it will go for sale unless I can find somewhere to store it that isn't a storage place.

thanks guys... I've been fucking up everything I've tried lately, it's about time I got something semi right. I already got someone wanting me to do his wife's bmw. and he saw it in person, but then he said "I don't need perfect, but the lowest quote I've gotten was $1600" so it's not perfect, but I double stitched so I can guarantee they'll be durable lol.

Just about 10 minutes. Its missing bolts everywhere. Tried to start it, but it just kept cranking. Then I noticed the dizzy was missing a bolt lol. 1 headlight works, tail lights dont, the DS fender harness has been sloppily reran through the engine bay, the windsheild wipers wont turn off, godspeed coilovers, suspension arms. short shifter. Digital cluster that apparently doesnt work, supposedly the original cluster is in the trunk that the trunk lid won't stay up... and the wing is missing a bolt/nut. Dash is pretty cracked. The pillars where the seatbelts are supposed to go between the windows was cut off and harnesses installed instead. Basically it looks like it's been owned by at least 1 retard, possibly more. But for $600, I can't complain. Will update rust status later... It was cold and I didn't want to get on my stomach to check.

Short video of it driving... It's unreasonably loud. May be up to trading someone for some stock exhaust, if they're into the whole loud slow car thing. Still have yet to get up under it and look at the condition of it.

Probably just going to start rewiring things tomorrow. Found about 13 relays laying around the car. Hooked up all the switches I could find and checked fuses. Random hot wires everywhere not hooked to anything, wires spliced 3-4 times within a couple feet just twisted together and taped. A couple look like wires from a house lamp or something. Need to start with the tail lights, got the brake lights and rear turn signals working. Then Then I'll do the top because there is power at the switch, but it won't move the top, yet the top will move when we hook a battery straight to it. Need to delete the washer sprayer wiring because I don't have a res, and everytime the wind blows it triggers my wipers to wipe a couple times. That problem is in the cluster of wires that look cut/burnt next to the fuse box under the hood lol.

I don't want to wash it because I've found human hand, raccoon, dog, cat and I believe goat prints on it lol... That and all the live wires that need to be cleaned up.

got a total of one thing done today out of the 10+ things on my list of things I wanted to accomplish.

Got the car home. Didn't have time to do shit to it but park it. Then I had go to do things for others.

It's fun to drive, but it will never be nice. So it'll be a beater until I sell it, trade it or finish my s14 and turn it into a missile. If missile, it will be Ka-t. I figure I'll just keep both cars in this thread instead of making a separate one.

The rattling noise is the bottom of my FL fender attached by zipties at the bottom because the bolt holes were too rusted to get a bolt in and I haven't gotten around to drilling it and using a nut and bolt.

Idle only fluctuates about 100rpms, but it's slow to fall after revving. Hard to start on cold start. Going to see if my fuel pump and MAF sensor from the zenki will work.

Hey Zig, how do those nismo seats come out? I was going to take them out so I could remove the carpet and start cleaning wiring, but the dang things are on the floor with no visible bolts. I can't even get a finger under the front.
