so here is the thing i dont know much and i have ben searching. so i have seen that buying coilovers is the way to go but but if your like me and have 190k miles on your car and dont race but hate the fact that even with 19" rims they still have 2 inch fender gap it sits up like a 4x4 so long story short of course i want coil overs but im wondering how much i would have to spend and wich way i want to go with the money

coilovers need camber kits?

lowering springs on good shocks i know u need camber kits but how much are they? and what all does a good kit consist of

coilovers u need to get alignment after?

well decent coilovers cost about 800 .. lowering springs are about 250 and then you got to add for the camber kit and about 400 for good shocks but then again i already got some kyb agx for 55 dollars
so

decent lowering about 2.5 inches will cost about 600 or more for new parts

you can get coilovers for around that unless you have to buy camberkits then your looking at about 800 for the cheapest

i have found that no one really post what all they had to buy to go with coilloers or lowering springs
i would love to have complete suspension builds of what you have and how much it cost new like did you have to buy camber kits how much alignment was everyhting it cost you to lower and get you car ridding better :feedback:

I have posted about my suspension setup, and I know Sleepy Steve had an entire thread about his grip car build...

you pretty much grab yourself some coils if you wanna go lower and stiffer than 2.5" w/ springs. most coils worth grabbing come with camber kits up front you could spend 899$ and up. rule of thumb is once you touch suspension go get an aligment but.. i'd say do more suspension work then go get your alignment specially wit.. 19's. unless you car is literally tracking left or right then your fine
thanks im gonna go with sportlines and kyb agxs and get it aligned and i guess be done with it until the lowering spring kill my shocks if you think it will be fine they say its about a 2.5 drop and i cant afford coils and dont want to invest that much in what is just gonna be for looks sound ok? im looking at about 300 maybe less for alignment and all cause i already got the shocks
lowering kits

hi sorry for making up this one i want also to have complete suspension builds of what you have. did you have to buy camber kits how much alignment was everyhting it cost you? what have you done to lowering kits mxjustin22?:feedback: thanks in any help guys.
Let's see for my suspension:
HKS Coilovers-installed when I bought the car
Cusco front/rear sway bars- $100 used for both
Poly sway brace mount bushings- $20
Cusco tension rod brace- $80
JIC front carbon tower bar- a steal for $80
Cusco rear tower bar- not a steal $100
Nagisa Auto inner fender braces- $250
Ikeya Formula tension rods- $300
Ikeya Forumla rear toe control rods- $260
used RUCAs- $100
rear aluminum subframe inserts-on the car when I bought it
used Uras tie rods/Kazama ends-$100
alignment by a very reputable local shop- $350, alignments are very expensive here in Okinawa, for some reason

You won't really need to mess with suspension arms, unless you lower more than 2". An alignment shop should be able to get things close to specs, if you don't go too low. If you go lower, you'll need, at a minimum, RUCAs, rear toe control rods, and struts that have adjustable pillow-ball upper mounts on the front pair.

Yeah, I know, but he wanted to know some prices.
Usually i dont spoonfeed information, but sometimes google searches bring threads like these up, so ill respond.

Just get coilovers and call it a day. Shocks and springs will lower you car a little bit, but trust me, you will want more (my car for example has 2.5 finger gap in the front, and almost 4 fingers in the rear with springs!). Its an additional 2-300 bucks for a coilover kit compared to shocks and springs (if you get a good shock, it creeps into coilover pricing).

At minimum:

- Any brand coilover (Stance/Powered by Max/Fortune Auto/Buddy Club/DMAX) are all solid choices for the 900-1200$ range. Personally i would not get the lower end coils (Megan racing/Godspeed/Racelands, ISIS) for overall ride quality among other things. If you are going to buy something, buy it once. Especially when it comes to suspension.

the only things you need are brains, a tool box, and a search button
