also i just got my car 6/27 heres some pics so you can see what i'm working with...they're not the greatest, but you get the idea.

the set up right now is ok, but it's just not my style...i've gotten a lot of compliments on the color, but i'm not a silver person and the black smoked lights aren't my thing. but for now, i think it pulls it off and if any of you are in the san fernando valley i'd want to see some more S14's...there are NO koukis around here...maybe 1 other, that's it that i know of.

 

sell the 240 for a good amount of cash about 7 or 8k and have 18k to buy who knows maybe an evo or something

 

man with 10 grand my car would be done, setup just how i like it.. you dont need grams to be have a nice car, yeah they are strong and light, but your dropping a lot of green for a name...

check this kouki.. really clean.. slap a t28 put-it-together yourself kit on the ka24de and youd have a real mover and shaker...

the rims are worth it to me, plus i'm getting at least a 30% discount on the rims and tires too, so that doesn't bother me.

 

get your wheels, fix everything else on your car, and get some new kouki lights. After that, take whatever you have left over and invest it.

 

nothing is wrong with my car really and i am investing 40k in a house as well. i'm actually getting 50k in 2 months but i set a 10k spending limit for me, and i'm gonna use the rest + another 200k hopefully to use as a down payment for a home...

and i'm not even 18 ...getting the money when i'm 18 due to legal issues

 

I wish I had your luck. Anyways I say first things first, Change those tail lights to some stock kouki tail lights. After that turbo the bitch if its KA or swap an RB26DETT. Then since you already have suspension and getting rims and tires just add more to the RB power or KA-T and then you are set for life buddy.

 

buy my car for $8k and spend the $2k on a body kit and paint

 

buy a greddy or fmax kit or something and pay someone to install it (assuming you can't do it yourself) thats around $3500 and then buy the wheels like you said. btw, front lip is NEEDED

 

i was thinking about getting the greddy kit and i have someone to install it for me who owns a shop...but now that i've been looking at wheels...there actually is better for the price. i just don't know if i can get SSR competition in the right offset, otherwise i was thinking either nismo LM GT4s or the 57Fs...TE37s are played out. you say front lip is needed? i was planning on putting the JDM bumper but why else would it be needed besides cosmetics?

or any good light weight rims that will fit on my car that are prefferably under 20lbs and 18" i don't really want to roll my fender or any of that...

thanks for the advice guys i think i've pretty much made up my mind now.

going for the greddy kit with fmic (painted black) and greddy turbo timer with blitz boost controller and power meter, apex'i exti n1 exhaust, front lip/kouki front depending on money, new rear kouki tails, c's short shifter, and a koyo radiator.


and thanks for the suggestions, those grenades look pretty nice. but if i can find the nismo LM GT4 rims for a decent price i'll snag some of those...anyone know of a good place that sells them?

I have 57s-PRO's on my zenki. 8.5 front 9 rear +33. you should roll the fender but not to the point where it starts to flare out. basically the little tiny lip on the inside of the fender (probably don't even have to roll it at all).

with 10k and that car i say:
New tails (The ones are butt ugly atm)
Kouki wing (K's wing)
JDM Front bumper/USDM Lip
Turbo
Exhaust
Intake
Some suspension work, tie rods, strut bars, sway bars, nismo power brace.
And finally, upgraded brakes.

oh my god i almost forgot... Broadway mirror and kouki fog lights =P

 

yeah make sure to search the market for your parts. Check other 240 forum FS sections and check the sticky with all the vendors out there that exist. You would be surprised about how much money you save if you do your research.

just save your money and invest it in a home...seriously....that extra 10 grand should be put in the bank and SAVED for household emergencies, etc.


btw- how are you getting 50 grand? Was it a lawsuit or aquired through family?

build a monster KA for a tiny fraction of 10k. Save up the rest.

can i really get all that with 10k? i'm guessing this isn't including paint. if so, that'd be great. i'd actually like to buy seats...my car has leather and it makes my back hot and i'm lucky because my mom will pay for a couple things, like the radiator and MAYBE front bumper. but for now all this is just research and planning because i got lazy and was stupid enough to let my chance for a license pass me by and now i have to wait til i'm 18 to get a license, i still drive though =X

and i'm getting the 50k through a lawsuit from back when i was 2 years old and got bit by a dog in the face. it was pretty bad, took a chunk out and everything. i have 3 scars left 2 kinda noticible and 1 barely, but one of them is on my eyelid O.O i think the dog almost bit my eye.

and i'm not worried about the resale, i plan on having this car for a while and i still have money to invest...sure 10k is 10k more to invest or save, but you can't go wrong with real estate.

and no, they did not kill the dog, it was my next door neighbor's the dog was actually really nice and it didn't bother me at all, i kinda liked it. but it had cancer so they put it to sleep =/
