It is also found as a liquid, microdot, sugar cubes, and gelatin squares, but is quite rare as a "white, odorless powder") usually taken orally, its effects are highly variable and begin within one hour and generally last 8-12 hours, gradually tapering off. It has been used experimentally in the treatment of alcoholics and psychiatric patients. During the 1950s and early 1960s, LSD experimentation was legally conducted by psychiatrists and others in the health and mental health professions. there's a search button that will answer your questions perfectly, trust me, i use it everyday for random stuff. you'll get questions answered and not have to deal with flame

I stopped reading you post after that because well...this is the problem on this forum(the greatest forum, by the way!). I do like to explain things is full detail when they are kind of hard to understand, but a basic question like this...where YOU even said YOU could search just makes me give you stupid answers.
If you can find it, and YOU KNOW YOU CAN FIND IT, 90% willl just give you stupid ass answers that makes you get your panties all in a bunch. The SEARCH button is SO helpful, I will find myself learning about 2-3 more things while search for one thing AND find multiple explanations on the subject I am searching.
The power this forum or any forum, Google, Wikipedia, SCCweb.com, HowStuffWorks.com, or some urban dictionary (like Wikipedia) is so great that you can find any answer to any basic overall question (like how things work).
Use the tools and dont get flamed (this is be a slogan in the Beginners section that pops up ever time a beginner logs in...)
