Where did you get your SR? Please don't tell me to search.

I have searched and it seems that Heavy Throttle and Enjuku are good, but I have found many other places and they all offer the same warranty, which unless you cen get the engine prepped and into the car with all new external parts in a month, is useless. So I was just wondering where everyone got there motors, how they ran, what they came with, and if you don't mind, how much you paid. I have read that i should stay away from Ebay, but I have never read about anyone's personal experience with that, so if you got one through Ebay mention that. Right now, I am looking at JDM Addiction because they are 1.5 hours away from me. Has anyone had any experience with them?
Thanks to everyone who can help me out.

personally i would go with somewhere where you can see and look at the condition of the motor before actually buying it. I went locally here in san diego and picked the one i liked, and since it was local, I didn't have to pay for shipping.

Thanks for the input, that's what I would really like to do, but the closest place is 1.5 hours. Which isn't too bad, but I wanna see if anyone here has experience with JDM Addiction before I make the trip. Also, if anyone knows of any other places in Florida that sell them let me know. There is one here in Orlando, but they said they only sell fwd motors :(

Thank you all for your input, I'm going to have to check out XAT racing, that's not too bad of a price for a half cut, I also like Jarco because theyre clips come with diffs and driveshafts and they are in GA which isn't TOO far. Are the 180SX diffs lsd/vlsd's? (I still have the stock open diff.) Also, thanks for the h/u on tamparacing.com. Also, has anyone used Ricky's Auto Center in Miami? (raceup.com)

XAT Racing is a good vendor; that's where i got my redtop from. I have heard nothing but good things from Jarconic. It doesnt matter where you get it really, as long as you get your motor from a vendor that has a good reputation. Just dont go the ebay route. Good Luck with finding a motor.

I beat the shit out of my first motor from JGY customs and it took everything I gave it. Good guys and good tech support when I couldn't figure something out. Just got a long block from Venus Auto and after taking a pressure washer to it, it's real nice looking and fired up fine when i first tested it, perfect compression in all 4 cylinders.

got mine through a local shop. i went and looked at it before i handed over the cash, which is the way to go unless you go for jarco, or jgy or mckinney and other places of high quality.

f/O forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i swear im gonna buy a ca from them!

Ive seen some bad and some good from venus so I wouldent go with them unless you get it really cheap. I ordered my redtop from sr20store.com last wednesday. I got a good price on it and he emailed me pics of the leak down test. The day it shipped out his computer was down and he called and gave me the tracking number and who to call to track it, so dealing with him so far has been good.I havent gotten the motor yet so I cant say how it is but Ill post it up when I get it fired up. I searched every nissan board and couldent find anything but good feed back from sr20store and they dont have the bend you over the table and stick it in your ass price. But you cant go wrong with phase2, jarco, or enjuku. I still believe what you pay for is what you get concerning everything so unless your feeling luckey go with one of the well known stores.

I believe an engine is an engine and none of those idiots who actualyl get the engines from junkyards in japan and send them over here no what condition the motor is in or nothing. There is no guarantee you are getting a less abused motor by buying from a reputable shop. As long as the place gives you everything you need, ecu, ignitor, uncut harness, etc... then as far as I'm concerned they're all the same.

Buying an SR is like playing Russian roulettle, remember that, there are no guarantees in this business...

what about venus-auto.com what has everyone heard about them?
As I said, longblock for $750 and perfect compression on all 4 cylinders. How can you complain about that?

If you are in Orlando, why don't you come to Enjuku? We're here, In Orlando, you can inspect your motor and everything.

Enjuku was my second choice only because they were so far from me. I have purchased several parts from them for my SR. They are a great bunch of guys and very knowledgeable. You can not go wrong getting one from them!!!!!!!

I just ordered mine from heavy throttle. Havent gotten it yet but ive heard good things about them. Mine should be here in a couple weeks. It sucks cause not all of us have the luxury of being able to go pick the motors our selves. So i just tried to find someone reliable. They are really cool to work with as well.
