Really it's worth that in parts even if there is alot more wrong with it than just the fuel pump. If it really is just the fuel pump, that's a steal. While your at it, bring a new fuel filter and multimeter to check the impedance on the injectors, it's just too cheap not to.
A fuel pump is a super easy replacement. Usually when s13's are that cheap it's a head gasket or slung rod.

Things to look out for:

I think I see some rust around the radiator support, never seen rust in that area so it makes me wonder how bad the rest of the car is.

random wire hanging out the relay box under the intake, probably no big deal but makes me wonder if the rest of the wiring is sketch city.

Even if it's a rats nest wiring-rust bucket, it's still a good deal. If he had the sense to advertise the car at that price, we wouldn't be having this conversation as it would have been sold the same day.

just my $0.02

Ok thank you. The owner its an old folk that repaired the head gasket because of overheating. Hes asking for $400 because he is not going to use the car and want to at least recover the money that he spent. The worst part to me is the rusted firewall. I was tinking to buy this car just for the practice and learning purpose and on buying something nicer in the future, but why dont just save a bit more a buy one that is in better conditions. That were Im at right now.

The rust on the radiator brackets aren't a big deal. Radiators themselves are easily replaceable. The minor surface rust on the strut towers looks like they don't have horrible rust issues underneath. That rod in the intake boot before the throttle body looks skeptic, but not a big deal. Check out the interior and trunk area for rust deposits. That hole by the air intake box has me a bit worried as if the car has been hit and crushed in that area; take another look in there, could be just dirty.

Hell I'd buy it for sure. Just for parts or worst case scenario as a missile

I'm kinda in the same boat... but a different section. I'm about to park the wife's 90SX because of rust. The body and interior is perfect but the dealer freaked when he put it up on a lift for servicing. Sez it's not fit for the road. So I'm kinda in limbo here myself. If I find something like that, I'd start moving parts...

Yep- you could do very nicely paying the guy $400, then parting it out on Ebay... Could definitely make enough for a nicer 240.

BTW the ticket is to make enough to afford a decent, stock, RUNNING 240; then source one out in TX, AZ etc (where there's no rust)... fly down, pay for car then drive it to wherever you live & build like a mofo. I did exactly that and have not looked back... Most older 240's here in the Midwest are rusted to shit.

If you have space to store the thing, buy it for parts at least. I personally would see it as a long list of things i can break without worrying about. If you have a way to get it home and a place to keep it while it's out of commission, do it.

Well its been a while and I havent buy the car yet. Im after a 91' for $1,500 obo and hopefully will be closing the deal on sunday. Its running and have a refreshed engine, aluminum rad, stearing wheel, eichback springs. Nothing to fancy but a good car to start my drifting journey. I will try to save $400 and buy the coupe any way. Maybe I could start it and re-sell it to a friend of mine that whant to start drifting too.
