how did you kill those turbo's? did you use a restrictor in your oil feed line.

no actually I did not. now I am running one and the car/turbo runs like a champ. iam running a holset hx40 on my 1jz without a restrictor and it's been just fine. but I haven't been over 10psi. so iam thinking should I put one on that turbo also???

so, it's been a long long time since ive updated this. why??? just been driving this thing. it was on daily duty for a while because the rolla was down. and seen some winter this year. but now it's back in storage where it belongs.
I did have to chase down some oil sweats in the oil pan welds. nothing super bad but still bad none-the-less.
Image

that one I cleaned up and used jb weld on. and I was very very impressed that it really stopped the leak. then 2 more spots poped up along the welds. the jb weld(version 2) Didn't go as perfect as the 1st one. so at some point I need to pull this engine and take this pan off.
I plan on getting it acid dipped and welded the hell out of these spots(fkn alum).
so after hearing horror stories of s13's getting jacked(on the east coast, iam going out there at some point to get away). I traded in my cheapo alarm for one of these babies.

Image

apparently finding someone who has done this exact model is a pita. and seems people are stuck on stupid(time wise) when it comes to installing one of these. I like the best buy price of $130.00 but another (competent looking shop quoted me $180.00).
mind you I already ran the pezo siren and the hood latch wiring in the car already.
and apparently I need this item also
Smart Start Module with GPS Tracking Start Your Car with A Smart Phone DSM250 | eBay
to track thieves(and then would be dead) perps on my cell phone. $70.00 a month. this always spending money on cars will never end.

so I came into some coin. and my quest alt stopped charging. so I had to use the almost new oem unit I had laying around. so now (lesson learned) I will always have at least 2 alts on hand. I finally went and got my quest alt rebuilt tho. for future big hp???

Image

and I always wanted one of these trunk latches. nismoshop had them on sale.
Image

so I found a guy to paint my car in kcmo. same color with a mix of chroma-base and some mason paint the same color. I have to remove most if all the panels myself and heres the breakdown I got
-labor $1,500.00(inc me taking off removable parts)
-paint $800.00+tax
-windshield $160.00
-wet wax(remove orange peel) $400.00
this includes him trying to smooth out my rough hood and removing the dents and dings around the car. would take him 2 weeks so that's not bad.

so, I got some insurance money from this heifer backing into me, and I got payed for my 1st study of the year, so I split the wealth. I felt the need to get a spare engine to build. and this one was a cheapo deal I bit the dick!!!

so I seen this picture online one day and I had a bright idea!!
Image

unique and different. so I wrote the owner and he informed me with some trimming and pretty much welding in some supports behind the lights. this can work on the s13 coupe without cutting the trunk or making it look like what-the-fuck!!
Image

I got some more pics of this and was convinced this was the way to go. and to pay homage to my license plate!!

$120.00 shipped from Malaysia got here pretty quick and the packaging was excellent.

so I also picked up a new stronger engine stand for the builder engine.

wanted to put this on the stand. but ran out of warm weather and mounting bolts. so now it sits.

so this past sunday I finally had the chance and time to make it up to Lincoln and run the mustang dyno. I really didn't have a serious map as I started over on a really slightly modified z32tt map. I adjusted some tp scales and made it so I can cruze around at 14 afr and save some fuel as this is my daily driver at the moment.

Image

I has video and will upload later. I still had some power to be made but not adjusting my boost/fuel cut and my wot fuel scales iam thinking I could had made 100whp more whp...

so sunday I got fucked royaly.. just finished a successful and surprising dyno run. got called out to race and accepted the challenge.

so about 70mph in on a un busy road my hood comes up and smacks the windshield and hood. I forgot that my main hood latch wasn't latched and the secondary gave out at the wind/speed.

so yes I got fucked in this deal, but luckily(as if) the windshield didn't break, just developed this slow spider crack that gets longer by the day.

Image

heres what the hood looked like after some massaging and 1 replacement latch(on left right bolt is seized and haven't been able to remove yet) so the right hinge is bent but still working.

Image

so I need a new hood, the worst of my problems right?? wrong, apparently the fucker didn't break my windshield thinking in part because I hacked up the under supports. but it smacked my roof kinda hard.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

well no big deal right?? so I go to a reputable dent repair place and I was floored as the fellow told me I need a whole new roof. he said I could repair this one, but it could get hot, and pop off whatever plastic/bondo is used to make it smooth.

he said I would need to cut off the old one and weld on a new roof. I asked just for the labor and he said 1k before paint.

anyone have similar roof issues before? iam thinking iam going to try and not replace this first and see what happens.

it is "oil canning" in one spot in the rear left part. he said the metal is stretched that's why this is happening am I that real fuckd??

I took some high def pics for better clarity.

so something fishy happened almost 2 weeks ago. my car stopped running. and after some buys of parts I didn't wind up needing. it was the fact that my fuel pump stop priming, running. the pump is good, but I need to hook 12v on it to get running. it's not the relay as I changed it and there is no power coming from any of the terminals.
so I have to put 12v on the lower left terminal to get the car running. I could just hardwire a relay and cut out the stock crap all together, but I want/need my fuel gauge to work still.

Discussion starter · #276 ·
so I got my fuel pump issue worked out. installed a aftermarket relay in the back next to the fuel pump. then also ran a inline fuse on the power line going to the relay.
Image

and here in the trunk, I couldn't find a body ground for the life of me. so I used the harness ground, worked like a charm

Image

and because my roof is fucked. I took measures for my hood to never come up again while driving. and to get rid of that pesky stick.

so, things got hairy I went to Wisconsin to compete in my first scca event in a few years.

Discussion starter · #278 ·
so I slapped on my compound race slicks in the rear(because iam poo). and it was under steer city. I was 20 seconds off for the day(was a 50-55 second track). I noticed my stock rear tires were wearing down more than normal. it's like my right rear tire is the main drive wheel(mind you I have a j30 v-lsd).

maybe this is the new found horsepower? or maybe my diff is going out(does this happen)??

so I get back to Missouri and purchase some new rubbers. they get my car on the life and that a pleasant surprise...

Image

Image

Image

that last pic was of the rear tire. looks like the rear tire was rubbing on the suspension right?? wonder why??

Discussion starter · #279 ·
ah, here's why... had these arms in my car for the better part of 2 years. a cheap buy. but actual real track use/daily driving/ and those kick ass nyc streets claimed these as a victim.

Image

here is the right side ruca. notice the ball is out.

Image

here is the left side ruca. on it's way out and all..

Image

had to go to the junkyard and I lucked out last minute before I had to shoot back out east. and scored stock rucas.

Image

got a quick alignment and I was on my way.. this is a temp fix, iam going to invest in a better design next time..

http://www.ebay.com/itm/201130389751?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

on another note I removed my front spacers. I thought I didn't need them because I have z32 wheels to clear my z32 brakes. but my coil overs had another thought about it.

Image
luckily I caught this KINDA early. did the road course like this, yes crazy I know.

the hud repair(attempt)

so I followed this sticky.

How to:Repair 240sx digital speedometer with HUD. NICO Club

I neglected to do the hot needle test because it was a pain getting this out. and I was kinda short on time, and I suck at soldering. so why do it??

the damn cluster only used to come on after the car heated up. then it stopped working all together. so I had nothing to loose.

heres what I needed it to look like.

Image

here's what the stock one looked like??
