Those are probably 1st generation miata parts. Strut tower bars are pretty cheap but a good name brand is still over $100 but i don't have one yet because for miatas you run into incompatability issues with intakes and forced induction. Most strut tower bars won't work with aftermarket intakes, unless you get a jackson racing strut tower bar which costs like $300 i think.

1st generation miata 1.6L greddy turbo kit(no fmic,no electronics) is $1200 you're right, there is no greddy turbo kit for 2nd gen or 1.8L though. 2nd gen miata turbo kits will start off at more than triple the price(but include everything). Thier's a difference between 1st generation miatas and 2nd generation miatas other than cosmetics (you probably know that but it's more significant than say s13/s14)


The 1st generation miata guys get all the cheap prices, the 2nd generation guys get charged out the ass comparatively speaking(but we get a better car to begin with anyways and much sexier imo).Shocks,wires,intakes,turbo kits,bars etc. . . it's all cheaper for 1st gen miata guys.

It's like the FC and FD situation. Ask Don :D

but yeah parts for my car will be cheaper than yours if thats what you're emphasizing, but the miata platform has been out for 15years and plus it's like half the size :gaylaugh

The wheels if i'm not mistaken look or are the same as those on the fc convertable , mesh 15" bbs. I was going through some sites and I found out that they cost like $600 each :eek4:

Is the mg engine heavy? I was thinking of getting an actual pinneapple.

Actually, it's the exact opposite in our situation. More companies make more parts for the more popular models which is the FD. How many fc's do you see upgraded and done right? how many FD's do you see upgraded? If I was a company in japan I would make more FD parts. :tears

I see what you mean about that, but I was aiming more towards the cost of parts. Don is always telling me about how much more expensive FD parts are, even similar parts that are used on the FC would cost more on the FD. I personally don't know myself but I was just assuming that FD parts costed significantly more than FC parts :12dunno
 
NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Don usuaslly has no money! He usuaslly substitutes good parts for EBAY bargaineer parts. Me and Don always talk about it and he understands why you get what you pay for. I prefer quality which does cost money. And on top of the that, it is harder to find quality parts for my FC.
 
wow...this is cool, a conversasion about cars! Not a norm for this thread. you guys have to go see the engine at Tony's. Its cool to see it out of its engine bay.

I will also be late tonight to the meet. Danny, will you be there on time? If so I will call you when I am free to see where you guys are at.

Well, after incessant pestering from Silvia Sister:)p) , I've decided to sign up.

I go by either Mike or Mikon, 22 year old Philosophy student at good old UDel. I'm known as "Mike240SX" on FreshAlloy, RX-7 Club, MR2 OC and so on and so forth, so you may know me from one of those places.

If you've ever seen the Sandstone Beige S13 coupe with a busted-ass front end around Newark, that's me. College has taken its toll on my bank account, and thus my lowly old 'Onevia' with 228k on the chassis has fallen into disarray. What can be done?

I take some pride in the fact that I've had the car well before the drifting bandwagon, when I used to get laughed at for not having a Civic or an Integra, so I may seem bitter about some things, but generally I get along well. Don't take any personal offense.

And that's my long-winded introduction. Oh, and here's an old, low quality picture of my S13 and my old S12 (SCCA Group 2 rally car project before I decided to go to school). Linked due to it distoring the page display...

Don't worry, many people here have had 240sx's before the bandwagon. This site was created before the bandwagon :)

Welcome! Don't worry about the apperance of you car! We all understand the money struggle, and we are just happy to meet another 240 owner.
Now that school is ending, will we see you at any of the meets?
Also, we need to talk! I am looking at an Sw20, and I am sure you know more than I about them.
