I just got a good deal on the 8k'snrg said:get rid of the 8000k HID kit. they're junk and halogen are more brighter. go with 4300K retrofit projectors.
Right now i have the Lamps in a Cheap H4 diamond housing (came with the HID'S) and to tell u the truth, I don’t like the way it looks, there is light every where...nrg said:ALL OEM HID (factory) are 4300K
WHITE lighting is the Brightest (lumins) on the Kelven scale. the higher the number (beyond 5000K) is just more blue and purple.
I bet you're going to ask me: "but why do some car have blue and purple HID?"
Well, because you're looking at the cutoff of the HID. The cutoff is where the light is being BENT which creates the darker color. That's why you see cars coming towards you with blue light, but the closer they get, the light gets white. Also the reason why you see some cars "flicker" lighting. the car has stiff suspension or hitting bumps and the cutoff his gleming in your eyes.
This is the number ONE question for anyone that's interested in HID.
Look at my car in my signature. See how the ground is white, but at the cutoff (top of the white light) it has a purple line. Cutoff is the line from darkness and light (provided by the HID). This line blocks light from hitting other drivers, and project the lighting much more better.
