get rid of the 8000k HID kit. they're junk and halogen are more brighter. go with 4300K retrofit projectors.
I just got a good deal on the 8k's
So I bought them.

I might just do Dual projectors, with some HID's (low)
What does the 4300 kit looks like
What car would come with 4300k factory ?
I can get some TL HID's for a good price...

The 8000k are bright as fuck, and are kind of blue
I don’t like them that much

ALL OEM HID (factory) are 4300K
WHITE lighting is the Brightest (lumins) on the Kelven scale. the higher the number (beyond 5000K) is just more blue and purple.

I bet you're going to ask me: "but why do some car have blue and purple HID?"
Well, because you're looking at the cutoff of the HID. The cutoff is where the light is being BENT which creates the darker color. That's why you see cars coming towards you with blue light, but the closer they get, the light gets white. Also the reason why you see some cars "flicker" lighting. the car has stiff suspension or hitting bumps and the cutoff his gleming in your eyes.

This is the number ONE question for anyone that's interested in HID.

Look at my car in my signature. See how the ground is white, but at the cutoff (top of the white light) it has a purple line. Cutoff is the line from darkness and light (provided by the HID). This line blocks light from hitting other drivers, and project the lighting much more better.

Right now i have the Lamps in a Cheap H4 diamond housing (came with the HID'S) and to tell u the truth, I don’t like the way it looks, there is light every where...
I hope once I get the S13 front, that with the projectors the hid will look a lot better

I will most likely get rid of theses, or put them in my civic (h4) and get the TL kit, and retrofit them in to the S13 headlamps

My question now is, does it matter what kind of housing the lamp is in
And what would be the best housing for a HID Lamp?

My girlfriend has a G35, and I love her HID’s
My friend has a TSX I also like his

yes it does mater what housing. there are halogen housing/projectors and hid housing/projectors.

with an s13 silvia front end, i'd do hid retrofit. it's the best way to give you the OEM look that the TSX has.

plus the s13 silvia JDM headlight uses RHD cutoff. so if you put an hid kit in that, it ill blind on coming traffic even worst. I'm sure the glass those projectors use are not clear type.

240-kid, they're not blue. they're 4300K. Once again, you're look at the cutoff of the HID.

By retrofiting, I mean you take out the HID projector and making them fit in your halogen housing. Your silvia comes with projectors, so you swap in the HID ones.
the hid projectors you pick up will be LHD and OEM (d2s). so your cutoff will not blind on coming traffic. hidplanet.com/forums/
