I used to put 1000miles a week on my 92, ran great and never let me down.

and you'd be a fool to spend any more than $20 on an intake, its just a pipe. spend your mony on a good reusable filter. as for exhaust SSAC is like $150, is GREAT quality and is one of the nicest sounding exhaust i've heard on any 240 in the area. I myself just make my own, they come out as perfectly as I want them and give me the same performance

thanks casey, i like to exxagerate haha

and yes you should get an intake, but get a no-name one or make one, it'll give you the same results. and get an intake AND filter haha :smacked49

probably just be cheaper to get something off ebay. of course it probably wouldn't be as quality, but probably a lot less buckage...i can see a good custom system being as much as or more than a top-flight production catback.

on the subject of exahust, I was thinking of buying someones muffler then going to a local shop and having them make the pipes for me. The pipes wouldn't be chrome, but ... thoughts?
Chrome? You mean polished stainless steel. There is no reason why you cant get a shop to weld you up an exhaust using stainless - except for the deepness of your pocket!
Mild steel is much cheaper and as long as you treat it (hi temp paint) it wont rust
