well did a lot today. All the blown KA is holding onto is a heater hose or two and a wire that needs to be disconnected. Going to swap the guides and tranny tomorrow and drop the new one in. If all goes well the car will be running by tomorrow, if not, Friday.

here is the blown at its current state:

Didint get done as much as wanted due to the hoist not being avalible the whole time, but got done enough for it to be a days job. Iv got to get the timing chain guides swapped over to the new engine. then its drop time.
Engine out of car. Decided to pull just the motor and not the tranny.

Oh HAHAHA no. Im hoping that itll be one more day of banging my forehead and burning the hell out of my hands trying to swap the motor. Iv had to cut ever day short by like 4 hours due to it being 105 degrees.

Im alive! I know no one gives a shit, but I am alive! I have the old motor on a stand in the garage...its ready to be taken apart to be rebuilt. Cant wait to see what fun problems are in it.

The new motor has been running for a good 1000miles now from its swap. Its running well. The past day i did notice a slight sluggish feeling. Im going to check the fuel pump, mafs, and CAT. The lines are all sealed correctly and the injectors are fine. Im going to unbolt the exhaust to see what shit flys out the cat and downpipe, then check the fuel pump and see if it is feeding 100% properly.

SOOOOOO its been all summer and NOTHING got done that i planned on getting done. Oh well Shit came up and Baseball got hella busy. Job didn't work out and money was short.

As for right now. The old KA is in complete pieces in the garage waiting for the funds to send the block out to get 5overbore and new pistons and rings. Looking at 300 for the Block to get done. I decided to get my power goal WAY down because there is no reason for 400hp for a drifter. so i'm looking to be getting 250ish hp running about maybe a t25 or t28 i don't know quite yet. The head is perfectly fine (rebuilt when i first got the car).

The new motor in the car was running SUPER STRONG for the first 1000miles or so when i got a bog at lower revs and a feeling of torquelessness at higher revs. SO cleaned the shit out of the throttle body, ran sea-foam through gas lines, cat wasn't clogged, sea-foam through the vac lines. NOTHING WORKED. Checked the fuel pressure. When under vac the fuel pressure was at 32 (low...should be 36) and its proper without vac (42). SOOOO i took the vac line on the FPR so i can have 42psi the whole time. Well it helped, but it still bogging a bit, so i'm thinking the extra pressure is causing it to flood. SOOOO changing the old FPR on to the new motor to see if it fixes the prob.

Other little problem: the susp. links are squeaking like a bitch...A certain lube i can pick up at O'Reilly's or something? Also, a little rust on them. I'v heard nail polish actually works.

Anyways, yuuhhh. Its going to be a looong year in school between school, Ball, and a job.....ill attempt to update the thread AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

For those of you in the DFW area or some people who just want to check out a 400+ weekly import meet on wed nights. Check out Project240sxDFW on facebook we hold the meet every week. Its a great group and a lot of fun!! There are about 10 to 15 240s that go to the meet, but its mainly import, but you'll see some domestic out there as well. If you go to the FB page you'll see a lot of pictures of some of the meets.

Thanks!

You did?

Iv had to cut ever day short by like 4 hours due to it being 105 degrees.
Pussy.

JK man- I do most of my work myself too... ALWAYS seems easier with an extra set of hands and someone to talk to. Is there a chance that the DE is running fine and you just "got used to" the better power? Hopefully it turns out to be something simple.

I know what you mean about time being short... Although the 100+ degree heat doesn't slow me down (poke poke), I had work, all 4 kids out for summer, plus a trig class kicking my ass... which obviously made getting to the car pretty low on the priority list. In the end, it doesn't matter how slow your forward progress is- it's forward progress and that's all that matters...

Good work dude~

I thought that it could have been me getting used to the power, but it was a night and day difference over night. I beat the shit out of it one day coming back from work and the next morning it wasn't like the day before. And I'm 90% sure its the FPR. and i have the one from the old motor anyways. And if the one form the older is bad i have another available.

oh and down here in TexASS, it was 110 in direct sunlight. I set a tool down for a minute and burnt the shit out of my hand picking it up.

I know exactly what you mean. I been working everyday for the past 5 months. Too much shit going on. I got 17 credits out of a maximum of 18 allowed, a pharmacy job and working for my dad. Money has been good, but it just gets exhausting.

Trollface, I have the money you want to make your car the way you want lol. I might just make a build thread and give little updates. Keep on keepin on
