Alright so, I know someone that is selling an S13 that's getting a SR20DET swap right now for 5000. Which to me sounds like a good deal, but I'm kinda skeptical about buying it because there's no warranty on the swap. If something goes wrong in the motor, then I'm up river with no paddle.
The same guy is selling a bone stock 240 that just got a new KA24DE. He only wants 3800 for it. It's got a little rust on the fender and stuff but it's perty decent.
The whole reason I'm buying a 240 is because I'd like to get into drifting. I just sold my first car and I figure I'd have a lot of time to practice outside of school.
So, my question is, would a stock KA24DE have enough Torque/HP to start a basic drift car? If I bought the KA 240, I'd have enough left over to buy a Mild turbo for it but I'd like to keep some money. Or, what could I add that would give me the power that I would need besides a turbo?

I could probably talk him down. You have to understand, I'm 16, no car and I have a job. I can't keep asking my friends for rides. I'm pretty limited on options right now, there's an S14 near me for 2500 but I had someone look at it and the guy is some ******* that knows Jack sh1+ about cars and I'm perty sure he beat the hell out of it.

Wow, I'm glad I came here before I went off and looked at it. Thanks guys, I'll have to talk him down. The rust really isn't that big of an issue for me. Believe it or not, my grandpa can fix rust like no other. He's prolly better than half the people that do it for a living, I'll have to take a picture of it and post it. There's no doubt in my mind that he could work at a body shop. haha

Ya that's way more than I spent on my hatch and I have no rust at all, plus I honestly over spent.

And to answer your first question, yes and stock KA is capable of drifting. I was sliding my 70bhp (on a good day) corolla like a mad man, so yes a 140bhp KA can do it just fine.

I would start off the offer at 1200, then go up tp 2000 AND STOP. No more than 2k. Thats is if it has nice interior also. I would be hard pressed to pay 2k let alone 3,300. =/ For 2k I would expect it to either be nicely modified OR Clean as HELL for that year.

Sounds like this dude is looking for a newb, like yourself, so becareful. <--dont mean that in a badway.

btw pignose fastbacks = no, so there is another thing you would have to pay to get "fixed".

Fuck off :happyfing. There's nothing wrong with the piggy, and honestly if I owned a chuki, I'd prolly switch to the pignose. Plus saying that the '89-'90 is never worth more than 2K is wrong. It depends on how clean it is and if it's rust free, it just happens that this one isn't.

Don't diss the Piggy!
