if you want to shoot flames on a stock DE (for others out there) but a safc and run +25-30% correction..... then floor it..... though dont expect the car to run well at all.

Stock KA, no managment changes, even stock intake, just downpipe back exhaust. maybe i will post a little vid for you guys tomarrow.

stock "header" is 2 pcs. top = exhaust manifold, 2nd section = downpipe/ collector.

 

my friends NA KA does it all the time, and talking with some guys at a local meet a while back several of them were blowing flames on their KA also

 

header > midpipe > cat > exhaust

 

Mine has done it since I switched exhaust.

 

mine does it because i have a bad o2 sensor, so shes dumping a lot more fuel and theres no cat. the cat wil usually contain the fire balls. but i you simply remove it and use a high flow mufler. with a bad o2 if its causing the car to run rich than it will shoot flames with the above mods.

paul-AIV delete and 94 octane can ad insult to injury as well.

 

if it shoots orange flames your runnin rich if it shoots blue that means your runnin fine, its only gonna shoot orange if its gettin too much fuel, your runnin a straight pipe with the cat eliminator on there thats why its shootin flames. but bad ass all the same.

 

i could do that with my sohc before i removed the secondaries now im running a tad lean.
my buddies FC rx7 shoots flames and smoke circles out the tail pipes, quite the site.

My old NA KA shot some nice flames.

 

Mine is a fireball when shifting from high RPMs in 1st through 3rd, after that 4th and 5th are just spits of flame. I haven't seen it personally, but when my friends were following me they called me up and told me that it was the greatest thing they've seen.

 

mine backfired a good bit when n/a with a 3" testpipe

ok, if your car is shooting fire, and it's essentially stock, you've got problems. that's all there is to it.

 

You stock guys can always run leaded race gas and blow your cat out. That will get you some nice flames.

 

And your o2 sensors at the sametime.

 

My mostly stock KAE with a head back exhaust was shooting blue flames.

 

i was shooting flames without my cat. had a header tho.. shit was loud as hell...

 

when I had my 240 I used to shoot flamies all the time. I had my timing a tad advanced, and ran 93oct. It was running a stock header, gutted cat (FTW!), and a 2.5 straight pipe. It was loud but it ran really good, the flames were also really predictible.

 

I circle track race a 240, no muffler, no cat, 3 in. exhaust comes out in front of the left rear wheel. Beautiful blue flame when I let of the gas going into the turn.

 

i snap crackle and pop all the time when i roll off the throttle, i just have a 3"/dual 2.5" catback and a 2.5" magnaflow cat with a stock exhaust mani (F'IN HOTSHOT GRRR) and hacked airbox. turns heads like crazy, i love it even if it is a bad thing (which it likely is). probably shoot fireballs like a roman candle if i had a testpipe instead.
