ill stick with my hatchback

 

Well the coupe is a little lighter and has more strenght in the back but the hatch has better 50-50 weight distribution. IMO the hatch looks better.

IMO the hatchback looks better, and with the s14 you have a lighter back, so your takeoff in most cases won't have to much traction, so I do believe I would go with hatchback on this one.

 

I love my hatch but I wish I had a coupe so I could do the silvia conv. I don't like the way the conv looks on the hatches...

 

Hatch IMO is the best looking model the coupe just doesn't look right with out the Silvia conversion, but thats my opinion... Stubby

lighter, stronger, better! all you gotta do is put the battery in the trunk and get a CF hood or something and theres your 50/50.

when i buy an S13, i'm gonna make sure its a coupe, my mind is made up (sorry fodive).

 

I used to prefer the hatches but the coupe has grown on me....Nothing looks better then a dropped coupe on some 17's or 18's:3somehump

i guess my coupe has grown on me...and i like to have a trunk...i need some opinions, Silvia conversion?? yes or no...i guess the flip lights have grown on me too...i need to be persuaded...thanks

i have a flat...so my wheel gap is huge...but is lowered

 

As far as strength goes, the coupe does have that rear crossmember to make it a little more rigid. BUT who the hell will ever push the HB to the point where they would wish they had a coupe? In Japan both are excellent drifting cars and would be great choices. 50/50? meh, coupe lighter? negligable, convertable? nooooooo way. Comes down to looks for the most part.

I like both, i enjoy both the pop up headlights and silvia headlights. The only problem with the coupes is that they probably wouldnt look so hot with an S15 headlight conversion (but most of the time the HB doesnt turn out much better).

i dunno which one i like better........ i originally liked coupes but now the hatch has started growing on me (if and only if it has a silvia conversion or the bottom of the front bumper is flush with the lines of the side skirts... dont like that pignose very much on either of em) but i'm torn between buying a 1500 two tone coupe or a blue 850 dollar hatch..

 

Depends on the year,

s13- fastbacks are better looking
s14 dont know, maybe coupe but i like the 180sx body style so it's not a good question to ask me.

 

there both 89 and both plain stock no power options at all but the coupe 89 has a new ka24de and the hatch has some engine problems... dont know exactly what it is

 

Actually the 89-90 coupe and fastbackes are KA24E. The KA24DE only comes on the 91 and up S13's

89-90 are SOHC = KA24E
91's are the first year the DOHC KA24DE are introduced

or maybe the owner blew the motor and replaced it with a DE

 

yeah its replaced with a de... not to be an ass or anything but think a little bit.. dont insult my intelligence by telling me stuff i already know

 

i like the hatches...the s13 coupes have those old nasty taillights and the flip up lights dont fit with the shape of the car, although with the right body kit,paint job,rims, the coupe can look incredible("s13"'s) edit....it also doesnt hurt to have the silvia headlights

 

Hatchback

The coupe has grown on me, looks like a real JDM drifting car.

Yet the hatch still looks a lot nicer, better looking tails, looks more up to date styling then the coupe.

 

Coupe may be lighter and more rigid, but the hatch has a closer weight dist. and is more aerodynamic!


plus hatch's look better imo

 

I like both but i'm leaning towards the Fastback because the system sounds much better, less rattling

 

i know this doesnt really belong here but i was hoping id get some info, what do you guys think about the MKIII MR2's. i was thinking about getting one over a s13 fastback.

BUY THE COUPE!!! i drive a fastback but i love both. i just think the coupe is the better choice in this situation.

 

yeah i was leanin towards the coupe.. just hope the guy calls me and keeps the deal under 1700.... (i'll need money for the LSD )

 

Get a FB! Coupes cant drift because they just can't! They have a trunk you can't fit anything in! Coupes don't get the taillights! Coupes don't have parts made for them! Coupes can't kick their asses out because there is like no glass there, which doesn't make their drift aerodynamics better.

Just get a 240sx. Be happy. Drive hard. Get the car that you can get the best deal for.

You will be happy with either.
