Welcome,
I figure it was time to put a thread together and stop hijacking threads.

I sold this Karmann Ghia on ebay for my 89 240sx hatch

I sold the Karmann Ghia to some dude in Mexico for 1500.00 USD. I ended up buying the Silver 89 240 for 1650.00

The car had over 180xxx miles on it and many little problems. I paid cash and the dudes name wasn't even on the papers. But the papers checked out. I think the guy was an illegal alien.

On the way home I had to rip off the sweet tribal design windshield sticker. Throw out the chrome skull coffee mug holder and some other sweet stuff.
But the killer carbon fiber print shift boot has remained,

So the list,

Blown rear strut
non functioning right auto seat belt
mirror control broken
dented up front end
worn tires
drivers window wouldnt roll down
ebrake dont really work
A/C didnt work
radio was broken
lighter didnt work
heater didnt work or even blow air
And found a melted up fuse box

So I bought OEM struts.
new window motor
removed the hubcaps
Fixed a short under the hood
replaced the head light
replaced fuses and eventually swapped in a new fuse box
junk yard auto belt for passenger
swapped passenger seat and driver seat :)
I also took the bumper off to fix the fender. Apparently the guy did more than just "bump" into a pole. When I got the bumper off, the support fell to the ground!! One bolt had sheared and the other ripped back off the rail. So I removed the support and pulled the fender up.

At this point I started taking the car to Auto crosses

SCCA SOLO2 here in SoCal. I am sure it looked like a boat on stock suspension, but it was fun. It also really got me intouch with the cars handling.

Then I got pulled over inthe canyon a couple times. So I painted the car black. Smoked the tail lights and went stealth.

I work on movies, and they needed a car in the forground. I thought it was pretty funny. And I will laugh harder if any of you actually see this show. I will also question your sexuality!

I started doing drift events after I put the welded diff in.

I just bought a body kit for $370 from Fat Boy Garage. A wangan for $120 from RnD (rip off), and cheesy ebay mirrors.

I went to a Ghetto shop in El Monte and had the kit and mirrors mounted, a little body work and paint put on for $800 cash. The color is Voodoo Blue from the 2007 toyota FJ.

I think the rims actually work the way they are now. But I am considering painting them white. But My windows are limo black, so the black rims help it all work together.
The wing is still being painted, and then will be mounted. I am still trying to figure out how to wire the mirror blinkers.

So This all took about 1 year of work and ALOT of frustration. (try rewiring a fuse box!). All and all, I am super stoked. I have done driftr days, drift events and Drifted the Irwindale D1GP course. ( not the first wall though). I have done about 5 Auto Crosses, (SCCA SOLO2). Run alot of Touges and Canyons and even gone to a drag race or two.
The car isn't on coil overs, nor is it SR or a 2way. But it still hangs with everyone at the events and people are definatly surprised when they find out its just a Single Cam :)
Thanks

the wheels are 15x8. 4 lug. The offset is somewhere in the negative. People have told me I should roll the fenders, but its not possiable. If I had a decent pic of the car without the flares, you would see they really stick out.

But I love the wide, low stance with the old school race flares.

And black is just to boring for me now days. You cant see the curves of the car. And I do alot of drifting. Drifting is about skill, talent and style. So a flashier car definatly helps with the style, and being able to see what the car is doing at night. A black car kinda sinks into the pavement.
I shoot drift photography and black or white cars lack that "flare" factor. Its really challenging to get em to "pop" in the pictures.
If I had a VIP style car, I might go black. But this car is for the track.

I love your wheel/tire set-up. If I had a 240 I would do it just like that. what are the specs of the tires? they have the meaty look. Also if you're not on coilovers how did you get the car so low? those KYB's aren't height adjustable are they?

My rims are 15x8 with a negative offset.
the front tires are 195 50 15's (streched).
the rears are 205 50 15's.

My ride hieght isnt adjustable. I run 15 inch rims on 50 series. So it sits lower than stock because of that. Then I have the RSR springs lowering it. And the fender flares come down a touch more than the regular lip.
