lately my engine temp gauge has been spiking.
goes up almost to the H then comes back down within 2 to 3 minutes.
i have replaced water pump,thermostat,fluids and radiator cap.

anyone know what the problem could be?

have you drained/refilled/bleed the system? do u have an overflow tank on it? replaced just the thermostat or did u replace the cts too?

i drained,filled and burped. thermo works(tested)
what's CTS?

is there any way to test the sensor?

coolant temp sensor and yeah unplug it and see if the engine struggles for a second

Unplugged it gauge goes down,engine doesn't struggle.

90% of the time I've seen this problem, the person didn't bleed the system all the way. It took me like 15 minutes to bleed mine all the way... Patience is key.

should it drop revs or should it almost turn off?
i just unplugged the wire checked the gauge plugged it back in.
didn't notice anything.

Yes like everyone has said. bleed your system, make sure to do it properly getting rid of all the air pockets in the system. also high probability is that the temp gauge is sticking.
