Ok so i had my engine out of the chasis once since i had it and just now today i noticed something on my block. Its between the oil filter and the block and has GREDDY engraved on it as well as 2 sensors screwed into it. One sensor on the top and one on the side. It had one larger sensor with 3 wires going to nothing and another sensors with 2 wires coming from it. Both wires have plastic connectors at the end and were tucked into my chasis (engine was installed professionally somewhere else). I noticed there is another passage coming from this oil plate that is blocked off with a nut.

What are these sensors?? Oil presure and temperature sensors??
And can i unplug one sensor and the nut to run an oil cooler??

I FREAKIN NEVER SAW THIS BEFORE!! blows my mind.

Temp sensor is right above the throttle body so I doubt its the temp sensor. The sending unit for the oil is located there around the oil filter. That means someone might of had a GReddy Oil Pressure gauge hooked up to it before you got the motor. Not sure what the other one is though.

Remember if you're planning on running an oil cooler you MUST run a thermostat in the lines. You should also give consideration to how you run the lines...i've seen a number of improperly installed cooler/thermostat setups starve a motor of oil once the thermostat opens due to the lines not looping back properly.

yea i think if i decide to run a cooler, i will just get a full kit like the B&M Universal Import oil cooler which i have heard works. The plate does have the temperature and pressure sensors installed with the wires loomed and all. So i may just buy some more autometer Z-series gauges to hook up.

I would love to get an oil cooler for cheap and hook it up to the plate, but i think it would be safer and put me at ease if i had a full kit that was made for it.

Getting a separate cooler and thermostat + doing the lines yourself is cheaper, just takes some thought. Remember the B&M kit (or most other cheap ones) probably still don't come with a thermostat.

Also, do you know what type of sensors are currently in there? Chances are if they're greddy sensors you're not going to get them to work with autometer gauges.

lol thats pretty funny because i dont have the flywheel anymore haha. I know exactly what you mean. They kick major ass, but mine got ripped up too much.

The Greddy oil filter sandwich plate isn't for an oil cooler. The line openings on them are way to small to flow properly.
If you have a 3 wire sensor and a 2 wire sensor on them it most likely means Oil pressure which is the one with 3 wires and Oil Temp the one with 2 wires.

Yea the plate does screw off just take off the filter and you'll see hex integraged after the treads for the oil filter. Use a 24 or 27 mm deep socket i cant remember which one it is at this moment
