Got a 91 240sx, car runs great and everything is good except... this problem. It seems like it's a common problem but what the hell is the fix? It's as if every gear, neutral or clutch in stops at around 5200 like that is the rev limiter. My speedo does not work either. Any ideas and help would be VERY helpful. Thanks

It seems as I search more on this topic it leads me to the 5th gear sensor might be bad? Causing it to rev limit everything to that. Problem I have is ive never worked with imports, especially 240s.. I MAY have found the sensor plug on the tranny but when I unscrew it and go to pull it out its like a oilish grease starts coming out.. so I push it back in. Is theyre suppose to be oil in these or what? There is 2 wires coming out and its like a round plug into the tranny

It ran slower than normal and acted like it had a rev limit at 5,000 rpm in any gear. I don't free rev my engine to limit so I can only say that while in gear it stopped at 5k.

When the injectors went out all the way it made the car run on only 2 or 3 cylinders.

I have an auto ecu and manual transmission, so my car isn't supposed to have the 4th and 5th gear 5k limit.

After replacement of the injectors I have the 7,000 rpm rev limit in all gears. After 110 mph it just keeps on going and going. :D
