I left my 93, 240sx with 129k miles parked in a garage for 2 months in cold cold Chicago, and of course the battery froze while I was gone, so I had to get a new one. But after putting the new one in, the engine starts fine, but for some reason, all my accessories - meters, wipers, door locks, windows, shoulder belt, won't turn on, until I tap the gas and the engine revs.

And also, when I turn the engine off, with the key still in the "accessories" position, the clock and the radio should still work, but both die out in a second.

When I start the engine back up again, the clock is reset, the radio is reset, so it seems like the battery is able to start the engine, but isn't supplying the rest of the car with power at all, because everything works only when the alternator is working.

So yeah, I'm not very good with cars, and after lots of reading that is all I could come up with. What could be the problem? Any help would be very much appreciated. =)

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll check the fuse and the relay once I get home.
But I have another concern, it feels like the battery is "only" able to start my engine and after that stops working at all, because when the car idles down (which means the alternator is working less), it feels like the car is getting weaker and about to die as the car starts shaking a little as the idle dips. OR is that something else completely?

first and foremost, check your grounds. 240s have terrible ground straps that rust out. it goes under the battery tray. get some battery terminal cleaner and follow the ground wire off the battery and spray, sand remove and clean anywhere it touches the chassis. i almost guarantee thats the problem.
