I have been so busy the last few months I havnt had time to take any serious pictures with my Camera. I did however buy myself a 55-250mm f2.8 lens for christmas :D

Here are some pictures I took today of my nieces skating today using it.

I have not touched them up on photoshop or anything yet

picked up a speedlite 420ex today, pretty pumped about it. Hopefully I will find something to try it out on this week

Congrats. Learn how to use it on camera first, then get some wireless triggers and use it off camera.

Here's a cheap but decent wireless trigger set: Gadget Infinity :: Digital Camera :: Flash Trigger :: Wireless Trigger :: Cactus Wireless Flash Trigger Set V4
Get those with a stand, umbrella adapter and umbrella and your set for some off camera lighting.

Look into Strobist if your interested in learning more about it.

yah its going to take awhile to get the hang of it.. having flash is like a whole different world haha.

I would definetly be interested in having a remote flash set up down the road though. I have just been trying to find lots of articles to read on the interwebs first. Thanks alot for the links Tom.

Took some pics yesterday of my friends truck, and another friend skating. Let me know what you think, you can click the pictures and go to flickr if you want to see them full screen.

I might make myself a grid diffuser for my flash. My buddy made one and its super simple, perhaps I will make a write up for it?

Also, starting to play around with high pass filters on photoshop. Im like how raw/sharp it makes pictures look.

I am annoyed how often I kept getting the flash in the background. But oh well, my friend was shooting too and got some unreal pictures, he went to school for photography though haha.
