i recently just picked up a 93 240sx fast back and my odometer jammed on me on my way home from the sales lot.
it started working again but it jammed up on me again. any suggestions?
it happened right after i refilled my tank and decided to reset my trip counter but that got stuck too after about 4 miles then started counting again up to 100 and got stuck again.

My odo flickered for about a month and then went out for nearly a year. But now is seems to be working fine. I went to a Nissan dealer when it wasn't working. They told me that the odo motor had stopped working. The charged me $130 for a new odo. The new ones are not pre-rolled to your mileage before they are shipped so they come in reading zero. To save confusion when I sell my car I think that I am just going to take the motor out of the new one and place it in the old one so I don't loose 105,000 miles.

sorry to bring back and old topic, but my 93's odometer's stuck...

it's at 126,997 1/2, and it wont budge at all..

worked fine when i got it, but a few weeks after, it just quit..

it occassionally moves a mile or so, but trip meter doesnt work, and it clicks faster and louder the faster i go, and when i slow down, so does the ticking...

should i spray it with WD-40..?

i didnt replace the glass when i installed my gauges, cause it broke in half, so if i can just spray it without having to take it apart again, that'd be good...

shit happens. mine stuck for a few months at like 223. now it doesn't matter because i swapped clusters, and it's down to like 212. and it's already mileage exempt from the last owner... stick in a new cluster if you really want it to start working properly

guys, just pick up a new gauge cluster off ebay or from a junkyard.
resetting the odo is technically illegal, but s13's are over 10 years old, therefore mileage exempt. if you roll a new odo back to accurate mileage (or roll it forward) there's really no harm done so long as you make sure your vehicle history semi-matches your odometer.
