Okay so here is the deal I just got a 240sx with a ka24e and i don't like the engine personally, it seems to small, and less power and not a fan of Sohc. So my plan is to switch it to a ka24de from a 1992 s13. I have been doing some research only because this topic has been covered a thousand times, but somethings im not getting. I Understand the parts you need are as follows:
New engine (ka24de)
Wiring harness from Ka24de
Ecu
power steering pump with lines and a/c compressor with lines if you prefer to have it
distributor and coil
Mass air flow sensor
and that's about all i got.

Now I understand that you basically you just change all this to swap it out, but when it comes to the ecu i see of a lot of sites say you need to cut the old harness, and wire somethings together? if so then what it the purpose in getting a whole other harness and ecu shouldnt it just plug up? (oh and will coil from Sohc work or no?) (and what about p/s lines can you just change the pump and put the sohc lines on the dohc pump, and same for a/c?) lmk i am doing the swap in only a couple days...

Thanks anyone for the feedback.

Lmao sorry i havent dealt with the SOHC its not my thing I can do anything with the DOHC thus the reason of why im switching. Can you just change the heads or no?

Sorry for being a "Noob" i just got into the 240 world 3 months ago, i don't mind being scolding (I wont make the same mistake again so be my guest lol)

You cannot swap head. Ps lines can be used but need to be reversed cuz the reservoir is on the opposite side. The wires that need to be cut are for the dash harness not any wires that actually plug into the ecu. If you have any other questions you can pm me I did the swap 6 months ago. Single cam ac lines will not hook up to de compressor. You can use single cam compressor but would have to make a bracket yourself. Same with power steering if I'm not mistaken. I used de everything cuz I had a parts car

Now I cant get any spark from my ignition coil... or Fuel to the fuel rail... The relay kicks on but no fuel, and the spark doesnt happen, But the coil worked perfect before? Its an E coil with modified DE harness to fit the E coil.. any help?

by your logic a sr20det is slower then a ka24de. because the motor is "smaller"..... hahahahahahahaha
first post i read since ive been gone for like 6 months and im already cracking up

thank you sir made my day.

False. I said it seemed smaller and at stock componenets it does have less power incase you're mis-informed. Furthermore, I switched due to having dealt with the DOHC for my first 240sx and it was more common to me. Plus my SOHC had issues and was ready to crap :/ Anyways the price for the tranny and motor was only 150$ and runs good, but with a few minor issues: I have in another post (feel free to help) . Another thing is I would never put an SR in my car. I hear they are great and popular, and produce a great amount of power with boost, but I would do a KA-T before SR. Personally I am aiming for an RB Swap. And basically you are saying I am a person who is fonder of bigger engines, If this was the case I wouldn't be riding in a Japanese car, would I?
