you guys are probably right working my way up from the KA, it just so happens my friend has a s13...port and polish is where the chambers are all smoothed off and what not, its makes for better airflow...and if i flipped my car i wouldnt dare to ask for another from my parents

do you have any idea how fast a 400+ 240sx is going to be? i hate to be repetitive but you might want to start off small and work your way up. a stock KA in the rain can get a 16 in trouble. Im just trying to say get a lil expierence with a stock sr or ka b/f you go modding the hell outta it. Thats part of the fun is upgrading. Your gonna throw all that cash into it at once and either get yourself in some trouble ,if you dont get some expierence, or your gonna get bored with it. Take your time and do it right and do it progresivly thats what makes it fun
Couldnt have said it better myself..
we're all trying to make a point that a high powered car is not the right choice for your first car .im 17 and the 240 is my first car believe me the KA is enough for a 16 year olds first car ,sheesh. ive been driving for 2 years . i dont give a shit what you think you know, you dont know shit till you get out there and start driving. There are tons of shit heads on the road. So start with the KA and work your way up end of story.
Again, exaclty what I was thinking minus the being 17 part

if your just about to start driving and your getting a rb25 powerd s14

I recommend all 16 year old drivers in my area get rb25 powewred 240's with lots of good aftermarket parts,,,,, I hate paying so much for new shit when I can get it at a salvage yard for half . :gaylaugh

Rb I just came to get some advice. Drift has made an excellent point to advise me to go with basics like exhaust, headers, air intake etc. So what the fuc* if I didnt know what a port and polish was. You didn't know some things when you started in the forums. Everyone has to start from somewhere.

wait wait, i must not be getting this right, is he saying he has an sr20det and hes going to get, let me get this straight, headers? and an air intake? i mean intake for the turbo yeah but i must be getting this wrong, i just woke up sorry kiddsss. alright, for my sr, it was an accident cuz i wrecked dorifting and got ins and bought some stuff for my car and fixed it for like half of what the ins gave me.... and the sr came well, im in debt loan wise. I think you should uhm, give me your car, yeah, that sounds good. come on pelican fly.
your gonna wreck if you plan on drifting, its going to happen, just hope its just control arms or whatnot. as for the person asking about lsd and stuff, you should start doing some research and stuff, my brother doesnt even have a car and he knows almost more than i do about sr's and 240's. i think someone already explained Limited Slip Differentials so i wont get into that, but dont get viscous, it sucks, dont waste your money on it, unless you get a shimmed one. get a honda and a b20917809285097a with a vtec head, it would be tight.

I've heard the 2JZGTE can handle 800+ HP on stock internals. Anyways, it's a good thing you've decided to take the small steps. For two years (now 18), I've owned a 1985 Toyota Celica, the last year it was RWD. And now, I'm looking into getting an S13 because there is almost no aftermarket support for the Celi. It's all DIY.

The 22RE in the Celica doesn't make as much power as a KADE, but it was enough to have fun going downhill here in Utah. I owe a lot to the Celica, because it taught me how to go sideways and how to appreciate the underpowered cars. But once I find the right S13, I plan to get all suspension and brake components replaced/upgraded first, then go SR with some basic mods. I admit it'd be fun to own a 450+ HP car. But for me, 155 will do for now.

I'm just wondering if you actually have a car, and what kind of shit condition it's in. Have you ever spun your car in the rain, have you owned any other cars, and do your parents not care about your own safty or do they not have any understanding of what they've given you. I don't mean this as an insult to you but YOU DO NOT NEED THIS CAR AT THE AGE OF SIXTEEN. Every friend of mine in high school who was a "car enthusiest" wrecked, tore up, broke there car. If this is your first car you will wreck the shit out of it. I had a 95 nissan maxima as a first car. IT was a five speed and i loved that car. Now it's dead. I'd kill for that car again. You should sign up for every automotive class you can. Sign up for your local autocrosses, get to know more experienced car enthusiest. I know this all sounds like stupid shit but when you have your car in two years w/ two years worth of mod, you know more about cars than all of your firends, and you can out drive anyone you currently know you will be very happy you took my advise.

Good luck and be careful.
