hey i just got my car back from inspection and i failed due to a crack in the windshield and the need for a replacement of the left outer tie rod. so im using this as an excuse to buy myself some nice tie rods, unfortunately my knowledge in that area is limited and searching i only found threads about ones for sale or people that have em on their cars. main question is, which ones to buy, where to buy cheap, and can i install them myself given the proper tools?

you will need a ball joint seperator.
you jack the car up ,take the tires off and then you need needle nose plyers to ta :supercool ke the cotter key off of the ball joint nut.
then take the ball joint seperator and with a hammer seperate the spindle from the tierod end. remember to mark the position of the tierod for reasimble
so you can at least get it close to the original position. then unscrew the t-rod end and replace with new one.im sure u can figure out the reinstall.
hope this helps

i have them and they are great, make sure to put the washer on if you wanted more of a turning angle. Also you would have to remove the rubber boot and unscrew the inner tie rod from the rack. There is a metal clip though that will be a pain in the ass to get off. It is a locking clip on the inner tie rod.

ok so about to install but left with a few lingering questions.....first what is "thread locker", the manual tells me to apply it to where the rack and tie rod connect....next, what is best/cheapest way to measure torque on these kinds of nuts and bolts....also, step 3 of the manual says "Remove rod end from knuckle using a special tool", im assuming this is referring to a ball-joint seperator?? help fast so i can put these damn things in!!

^^An example of threadlocker. Goto your local hardware or auto store and they'll have plenty of it. I'm not sure which one exactly to get maybe someone else can give u a better answer cuz I know some are stronger than others.
