and a steering rack is normally mounted low, like, transmission height? maybe suspension height is a better way to put it. i`ve read some howstuffworks stuff on rack and pinion before, so iFigured the end of the steering mechanisms are about level with the wheel hub.
Was that a question or just talking out loud in writing?

yea...ill be jesse for the rest of my life....

well, T, the way the english language works is that, in general, the sentences that end in question marks are questions, and those that end with periods are either declarations or commands. I can get more detailed, if need be, I`m one of the lucky few that still hafta learn this stuff over and over again every year... Bryant just recently upgraded to the next level.

anyway, by this logic, the first sentence (fragment more like, we don`t use very formal english around here) was a question, the rest of my post was declarative.

Ok smartass...Normally mounted low in a RSX no. It is usually, make that damn near always, mounted about mid way up on the firewall on the Acura RSX (DC5).

... I`ve gathered that about the dc after hearing it twice, I meant normally as in other cars. but i`m just gonna assume as much anyway. When`s the CA gonna be on the road?

*omnibus* now there`s me thinking out loud.

Mark got some parts from C yesterday. I think in a few weeks. He is moving this weekend or something so probably 3-5 weeks.

And yes most steering racks that I know of are mounted lower. Keep in mind fwd cars (what like 98.7% of cars these days) don't have a cross member under the motor like the 240 does to mount the rack on so I think in most cases it is mounted on the firewall or on a cross member mounted about where the back of our motor is.

I know most of the newer honda/acuras have engine cradles. Basically VERY similar to a rear subframe except in this case the engine and trans are mounted to it. The rack on mom's TL is mounted on either that or the rear engine bay crossmember...but low like you said.

Oh and no not just honda sports cars have the double wish bone. I just looked at the TL and it is setup almost exactly like a DC2 Integra with unequal length A-arms (double wish bone).

i think im stayin alabama this weekend, its supposed to be raining in sc...so if anyone wants to do somethin gimme a call

dude.........why dont you ever space out and type your word "I" away from the next word. is your keyboard broken?

nope, it`s something wrong up here *taps forehead* d00de.

do you know any people from "t town" that live in TN? there`s this girl from BhamRicing i`ve been talkin to since that thread about "it`s raining outside" and she apparently hangs around some turbo`d schassis owners regularly. Her name`s laura and she`s got black hair, if it helps... that`s all iKnow. oh iForgot to mention, she`s helping a guy put a 302 in an "88 240".

no i dont know her. i hang around all of like mark, my sti friend, my friend jon w/a turbo'd b18 powered hatch, and my friend anthony. those are the only car people i really hang around in tuscaloosa..........wait......those are the only people i hang around with at all.....oh well.

Jon with a previously turbo'd b18 powered hatch. I thought that good old open deck design took a dump on him and he was selling out. I am ready to see more K-series stuff in older hondas. Like civics and dc2's.

Oh well just ignore me, I am on the crackrock.

lol keith....hes got an apple sticker on his car...so i have to assume its like, a apple/mac computer geek thing...

he already has a new short block and is putting it in as we speak :-/

for having the potential to be as vulgar as that cat can get, he sure is an intuitive little cookie sometimes.

Well Keith, iJus told her that iKnow a guy or two that lives in or near "T-Town" and that she might know em, so iFigured iMay as well check an see if you`ve ever run into each other. she sounds like a good friend to have around with the mechanic skillz0rz. unless of course you`re Todd or Keith and are already smart enough to not really need help anymore...

yea, she can be the one under the car b/c i hate laying under cars in these shitty gravel parking lots. sounds good to me :-D

dang straight man, iHad to change a tire on a lumina in the ghetto (glass, dirt, who knows what else) yesterday with nothing but the car`s own jack and that tire iron type thing and both were covered in some kind of grease... it was great. and then the exhaust fell off it`s hanger and now i`ve got the "just married" rattle goin on. I really needa get under the hood of me nissan...
