hey guys. got an s14 with a s14blacktop sr20det. oil pressure sender is leaking, dont have an oil pressure gauge so i figured its time. I've looked around and not quite sure what to buy. all i want is to remove the oem oil pressure sender and do the install so than i can put a gauge in my car and wire it up. any links you could hook me up with on which package to or which parts to buy?? thanks.

I wouldn't remove the stock one. Get a sandwich block adapter that goes right over the stock oil filter location, and run an aftermarket sender/gauge through that. Better yet, get an oil filter relocation kit and run the aftermarket gauge/sender through the adapter that has the filter on it.

sandwich adapter (I use this only as a reference, try to find something that is better quality):

why not remove the stock one? It only tells you when you already did damage to the engine.

You'd also have to pull the bulb for your oil light :p

I absolutely had to have the relocation. No way in hell I was fishing under there for oil filters like the KA. It's worth the money. Snag those, and a Tomei oil block adapter, and be done. Also makes wiring and installing your gauge (and replacing sensors) a snap.

As for the actual gauge, I've used Prosport's for years and love them. Fastwrx.com sells them for a good price (discount if you get multiple)

I learn something new everyday, didn't realize that an aftermarket sensor would go right into the OEM spot, without a bung. I had the relocation kit on the 14, and I didn't have to remove the stock sensor. I guess it just depends on the style of adapter used.

Correct. I haven't been running an OEM pressure switch for a year or two now and I have no oil light. Same reasons as you stated above... if you see that light its far too late. Unless your driving a civic.

For the record, its 1/8 NPT
