Ok I'm striping the Turbo Max and installing turbo in s13-start a step by step?

I'm going to set the Max back to stock after all that work. I just don't feel like buying all the turbo stuff again. I'm not looking to make crazy power I just want it to work right and be reliable for a while.

So here's what I have.
92 Ka-de
T3/60-1
38mm tial with 10lb spring
Safc2
Cartech like FMU
370cc inj.
Walbro 255 might not fit from the Max.
I just found about $1300 and they haven't been picked up by my wifes radar. :D

What I think I'll need:
T3 flange manifold ($400)
Do they make smaller springs for the 38mm tial?
some piping I cant use from the Max

Questions:
*The stinking s13 maf. Will the SAFC be able to control it?
the MAF hack doesn't seem to work with s13 MAF so will I be able to use the
370 inj.?
* MAF position. Some put it on the charged and others on the intake side.
I wouldn't mind having the BOV pftsssh. Does any one have the KA running without the recirc. hose?
*Is there a step by step like the SR install? I couldn't find it. If not should we start one. Starting with a basic setup and moving into the more advanced setup. (with pix would be nice)
* should I just spend the money and get the Jim Wolf Ecu and add the SAFC to fine tune? I know they say you shouldn't but would it work?
* are there vacuum hints on what to do with vacuum lines?

I know that's a lot of questions but a nice FAQ KAt step by step would be nice.
I did some searching and found a lot of debates with some of the options.

I'll take pix of everything I do if someone is willing to do the technical writeup?

i ran a stock maf and an afcII with 370 injectors, the mafs sucked so u bought a 300zx , your maxima mafs would work nicely for you ;)

Well I plan on putting everything back to stock so I thought I would use the stock KA maf. So you bought a 300z maf and it worked with your SAFC?

Not sure how laggy my turbo setup will be with a t3/60-1. It was cool for the max because it had tons of torque with the VQ6. But I can always down size later I guess. I'll need to research what manifold to get and get all the parts together.

I have a lift at my dads shop but I might not going use it since most folks won't have access to the lift.

yes it did i have an afcII and all you have to do is change the airflow in signal to whatever it is for the mafs you are using and it sends your computer the correct signal in my case its in 2 out 6 its pretty slick how it works, your turbo should be fine , im guessing it will spool at around 3800 to 4 , im going to be running a t04 w/ a t3 flange later this summer so it should be fun, the manifold im going to be using is at import autoperformance its an equal length manifold, kinda pricey but worth it in my opinion

Ok before we start a debate. I was wondering if the Turbo Ka's could tell us what HAS worked for them?

A. Some say if the MAF is close enough to the TB the air blown back from the closed TB won't affect the MAF that bad.
B. Some say that if the BOV vents to the air the MAF has incorrect reading and runs super rich @ shifts and after reving causing the car to stall at times.
(if you have SAFC there's a setting call Decel Air something that helps this issue as well)
C. recirc. the air from BOV to intake pipe resolves the misreadings from venting into air.

Ok these are some of arguments from the 3 setups.
What settings are the KAT's running and is it working?

These are issues that would be nice to know before the project so I don't have to redo piping.

FINALLY, diagrams are making their ways onto the forums.
And FINALLY, someone who knows to keep things simple and learn before slapping in a 500+whp turbo.
Most of the time, I say "Do it once, and do it right", but with a turbo, that's kind of hard to do. I have a feeling this might need to be a sticky by the end of the month.

Yes a guide to a KA24DE -> KA24DET FAQ would be awesome to have. I also like the idea of a more advanced version that goes into details you're getting into here. Also going into thing such as what size injectors should be used for a desired power output and what's required to manage everything electronically.
