Well the motor mount are a bitch to get them undone on my pas car i heated the bolts till they were pretty much ReD and then i just cooled it downwith water so they were pretty easy to take of!

Also drain your fluids, if u dont wanna have a pain in the ass removing all the harness i say unplug ur ecu and the plug under the glove box removing anything that is attatched to everything but the motor, then remove all the wiring haress that is plugged to your fusebox next to the battery remove battery pole, and the ground on the intake then u should be pretty much set to pull ur motor! with the harness and without having to take off ur starter and shit! good luck its pretty much easy!took me 3 hours and it was out! if not less plus i was by myself!

i'm in the same process of pulling my ka24e for my dohc swap. but i'm having problems with having time to actually do the work because of my job. but hopefully i can get it all out tomorrow. it was a bitch tryin to get my exhaust manifold off because of all the shit i had to remove. i still have my ac lines in.

Why are you tryin to remove your exhaust manifold? all u need to do is remove the downpipe or detatch if from the cat u can still pull it! because well it depeds on cherry piker but usually best spots to put ur chain on are the intake mani and the exhaust manifold! also i forgot to mention,

remove the shifter
Power steering lines
Once u have removed ur fuel line that go to your engine put screws in the lines for no fuel odors!
dont forget to removeyour heater hoses
if i rememebr anything i have forgotten i will do my best to keep u informed! enjoy the pull its pretty easy!

i removed it because my brother wanted it, but cool thanks for everything. i plan on using the sohc wiring harness for the dohc swap; the dohc wiring harness that came with the engine is cut. i know theres a write up on using it in the faqs. only haggle i really have is getting the line from the fuel filter to the engine off. shit is on tighter than hell.

its in the factory service manual but here...

1) remove fuel pump fuse
2) take off gas cap
3) crank car 3-5 times

car will nto start and will not have fuel pressure.

I have no idea what removing the gas cap has to do with releasing fuel pressure, it's not in the FSM. Look for yourself. The fuel pump doesn't pump fuel by pressurizing the tank with air, it just pumps fuel. there's a relief valve in the cap that admits air to the tank as the fuel level goes down. Look at your gas cap and you'll see it. If the car hasn't run for several days it's probably not going to have very much or no fuel pressure anyhow.

WEll i have work in a gas station and for some cars everytime you remove the fuel cap u can here SOO much pressure being released! Basically the system was closed and now its open! on my celica that was how i should have doe it! but its your choice i have done that with 3 cars and nothin happened! anyways when ur workin with the fuel u should never make any sort of spark! or fire!
