just wondering would z32 30mm caliper fit s14 5 lugs. im thinking about doing the upgrade. if i do the conversion, do i need to buy just the z32 capliars and the rotors?

thanks for looking

Do you honestly need those lines or is it a marketing gimmick? I can't figure it out due to my limited experiance with USDM cars but I've used 180 and 14 lines on 32 GTR calipers, 33 GTR Brembo's and 32 GTST calipers and right now I'm using 33 GTR lines on my 14...

To answer your question, here's what works:
1990 300ZX NA: 26mm rotor, "narrow" aluminum caliper. A 280mm x 26mm rotor was used.
1990 300ZX TT: 30mm rotor, aluminum caliper. A 280mm x 30mm rotor was used.
1991-1992.5 all: 30mm rotor, aluminum caliper. A 280mm x 30mm rotor was used.
1992.5-1996 all: 30mm rotor, cast iron caliper. A 280mm x 30mm rotor was used.

Any of these will fit behind stock S14 SE 16" alloys

The things you need to do the swap are:
300ZX Calipers.
300ZX Rotors.
pads, shims, and the other misc. caliper hardware if it didn't come on your calipers.
brake lines.

The brake lines need to be changed because the 300ZX caliper uses a different fitting than the 240sx caliper (the 300ZX caliper has a flare fitting, the 240 caliper uses a banjo bolt). You can build custom stainless lines with the right fittings, or you can have them built by a local speed shop (the threads on the fittings are 10mm x 1.0 ), or you can talk to Don Nimi at www.pdm-racing.com for a pre-made set. Or, you can use OEM 300ZX lines, but you have to make sure to get both lines for each side, both the rubber and the short segment of hard line. Or you could just get the OEM hardline and get 300ZX stainless steel lines. The point is, you have options. I think getting custom lines (or homemade or Don Nimi's) is the cleanest approach.

The install is a piece of cake. The only big issue is that the dust shield behind the rotors needs to be cut away, because the larger 300ZX rotors will rub against it, and it needs to be cut pretty close to the hub. Aside from that, everything bolts right up. After you've done that, bleed the brakes and then you're in business.

240sx brake swap

here is your ans.

s14 se 16"wheel will clean either 26 or 30mm from 300zx( remeber same size rotor too), need a spacer for the bolt because the oem bolt of 240 is little bit long

you better have the 300zx master cylinder, if ur 240 is non-abs need some modification of the cylinder

you better get new brake line, i use the projectnissan one

if you do the front and rear too, you need the 300zx rear brake dump and a JDM R33 gts brake cable to make every things work!!!!

180sx and 240sx have banjo bolts connecting the lines to the calipers

jdm s14 k's and z32/r32/r33 have male flare connectors connecting the lines to the calipers

converting 180sx and 240sx brakes to z32/r32/r33 require conversion lines. Might as well upgrade to stanless steel braided lines

Show me proof where the brake lines will fail if you use the banjo bolt. I was going to use the banjo bolts on my 33 Brembo's but then junked that car so now I'm using peiced together SS lines from a 33 GTR on my 14...

The stock Se wheel will clear 30mm iron or aluminum.
And I would say you definetly want to upgrade the bmc as well, the pedal feel on 26mm aluminum with stock bmc is slighyly soggy for a split second, then has good hard engagement.

On my new ride I put on 30mm aluminum front and the rears as well, + upgraded bmc and its the perfect setup. Pedal feel is strong and extremly responsive to foot pressure.

Now just need to cop some gts e-brake cables. Man it sucks having no e-brake fun right now. Good luck with your brake setup decisions, but steel braided is the best/safest way to go in my opinion. Why risk doing something sketch with your brakes? - Peace
