RB20 tapping noise

Hey guys,
I got my rb20det started up and running and it seems to run pretty smooth and idle fine but their is a slight tapping noise that sounds like it is comming from the head around the intake manifold. I only let the engine run for less than a minute because I got kind of worried. Did you guys have this problem when you fist fired up your motor? Do you think it might be a lifter or does it maybe need to be fully warmed up to go away? Any help would be great.

the lifters can sometimes go dry and cause a tapping noise but some time running and they will pump back up.
proly were hearing injectors, stock ones are fairly quiet but aftermarket ones can get noisy.

I had the same problem when I first swapped my motor...went away after driving it for a short span.

Ditto on the noisy injectors...Mk III Supra injectors = noisy!

i have this issue on my rb25. its a tapping/clicking noise coming from the head or intake mani.. the frequency of the clicks increases with rpm if i rev the motor. any ideas?

probably a good chance that it is just some noisy lifters. Since they are hydraulic. I have heard that some lucas will decreases the noise.
