What color smoke

 

smoke could mean so many different things. The color and smell of the smoke helps you figure out roughly where it could be coming from.

 

its a light grey/white... someone said it looked blue but no one else sees it...

 

If there is a blue hue to it, it is most likely oil. I am no to familiar with car compresssion numbers. I do know that on a jet ski, if 180 psi is correct, 165 would be low. Like rings may have an issue or such......

 

10 miles, lol? You need to run the fuck out of it then, seriously. Hopefully they're just still seating and not glazed, but if you haven't already, change your oil and load the hell out of the rings. You want to get it under a load, but you don't want to get the rings too hot. So drive it hard for a few seconds, then ease up, drive it hard, ease up etc.

 

This is normal, and will end when the engine explodes.

Blue = oil
White / Grey = coolant
Black = fuel, you're too rich

 

^this made me lol plus its so true, especially if your running without a cat, like me, mine smokes too, usually its at cold start up or if i floor it, and sometimes randomly as well, but my motor has 170,xxx on it, yours doesnt but who knows i think the KAe just likes to give mother nature the finger more than most engines

 

Yea, as I'm driving it less smoke... but it still feels like ti bogs out at higher RPMs, and I donno if its running right. I wish I could drive another bone stock running KA to see how it feels :/... ugh shoulda got a sr haha

 

You sure the cam timing and ignition timing are both in spec? Btw, SR's have problems too. Look at my sig, lol.

 

cam timing is pretty hard to fuck up if I'm correct.... theres a notch in the gear so thats easy... and ignitiong timing, we adjusted it till it seemed right.

Have you seated the rings yet? What break in procedure are you doing?

Seated the ring? sorry I really dont understand... I didnt rebuild the motor, I bought it rebuilt from a friend of a friend....

The person I bought it from says it may be a bad MAF sensor, so I'm gonna try another one hes got laying around and see what happens.

well 15-20 psi off on one cylinder, is it not possible that not all the gas is burning in that cylinder and therefore leaving excess gas which when hitting the hot exhaust turns to white smoke? thats what happened to my 240 when one of my spark plugs broke.

 

if there is any rich condition it will smoke black.
white is usually a sign of condensation or coolant getting into the combustion chamber.
Blue is oil.

Your compression numbers arent horrible, should be better for a fresh rebuild. give it some time to break in, do oil changes very frequent. and re test compression later. Keep an eye on your oil/coolant levels and the amount of smoke. The lack of power is normal.the stock ka is not very impressive at all.
