jus for fun cuz i bored.. what u think would win in a race? a sr20 with bealry ne mods like cold air intake, headers, interkooler, 3" down pipes with turbo.. who'd win? o and the h22 had the same mods. :48dunce

depends which car the h22 is in

a h22 crx with traction will wreck a mild sr in the quarter
same for a h22 bubble

96+ civic would be close

now a lude, accord or 240 would probably win.

I have a JDM H22 in my Prelude...and I will have an SR in my 240 soon....I hope. I plan to race them.

My Prelude has intake, header, and exhaust. The same will be on the 240. I am thinking they will be pretty close. My Prelude put down 180whp with just the intake and exhaust. I will try to get it on video too. I'll post it.

Wow, jesus fucking christ..... this has to be the stupidest thread of the year guys.... I have not seen this much mis-information on here in a while!!!! Prelude guy: your prelude weighs a decent amount more than a 240---P/W ratio????

Noobs, man could you learn just a little bit about most of the cars in the spo/com scene so that your posts are not so ridiculous.

Yeah, the Prelude is on the heavy side. 4th Gens (92-96) are a little lighter than the 5th Gen. The 4th Gen is a little over 2900lbs. The 5th gen is very close to the 3000lb mark. The 5th Gen had worse gearing so it isn't as fast as the 4th Gen VTEC model.

Accords are lighter than Preludes so an Accord with an H22 theoretically should be faster with the same mods than a Prelude.

I know my Prelude weighs more, and I don't think it will beat my 240. I just want to compare just to see. It should be fun. If I were to guess my 1/4 mile in my Prelude, it should be around 14.7 with intake, header, and exhaust without the tune.

Here's an H22 that makes 270+whp!!!:eek4:

Not sure if you are talking to me, but I know a little about a wide variety of cars. I am a car enthusiast, not a brand loyalist. :) I cna appreciate just about any car. I like messing with the guys who hate on other cars. Ignorant people are fun to mess with. :D

I'll put an end to this argument. I'll get it on video and post it. I am not sure why everyone is getting so bent out of shape. :rotflmao

This is funny. Friend has a early 90's Prelude H22 and ran a 15.5 with it. He sucks at driving but its a heavy car too. Another friend has a H22 Civic EK which is much faster than the Prelude. Ive ran them both when my car was @ 10psi on the T25. Prelude got raped and the EK stayed close but lost by 3/4 a car to 100mph. Both H22 had the same bolton shit done. The kid with the Prelude raced me with my SOHC KA and i kept even up to 75mph then he started pulling ever so slightly. Weights makes a big difference.

I am not getting bent out of shape.... its just new people come on here and post dumbshit without re-searching anything. The h22 you posted is stroked to 2.44 liters and runs 12/1 compression = 270whp nice number, to bad the motor is basically a full race build. Not to mention the money to build it to that level. Plus tq barely hits over 200....

you're certainly right about all of that, but he still runs it on pump gas, and it runs a 12.7 in a full interior daily driven accord.:thumbsup that's impressive to me..

Nissanpwrds14 has a point, there's no fair comparison between the 2 engines. Both engines will respond to mods differently. I/E/H on an Sr will get you to low 14's high 13's. I've seen people in the deep 13's with boost up and just intake and exhaust.

wtf, i hate this thread and i hate all of you (well, only the morons posting in here. and i don't actually hate you. just your posts)

some seriously dumb posts in here. having owned both engines, i'll take the sr.

EJ25 ftw

i had a jdm h22a w/ lsd.

i had an sr20det - progressively modified from

to

i liked both of them, i just happened to like the sr better.

and if you were to bench race a stock sr in a 180sx/silvia vs. a stock h22 in a prelude/accord (where these engines originally lived in jdm land) - the sr would win by a small margin (based on power/weight and my experiences driving both engines stock in a 240sx and a 5th gen accord coupe)
