SR20DET- No idle~ HELP~

I have had 2 "mechanics" look at my car and could not figure out what is wrong with it. We have all confirmed that the timing is correct, it is getting fuel (possibly not enough?), has spark, but will not idle and is really tough to rev up.

When I first start the car it automatically goes up to 2k rpm then dropps quickly to about 800 rpm and the car tries to keep running in spurts, but within seconds it dies. If I start it up and play with the throttle I can keep it running. If I put the throttle to the floor it will sometimes rev up to 8k (if I hold the throttle long enough) but other times it will act as if its missing or forget totaly that I'm hitting the gas and start to die even though the pedal is at the floor.

I read the codes on it before and got "other malfunction, consult nissan scan tool" but yesterday I realized that the ECU wasn't even connected to my dash so I'm assuming that is why I got that code. But I tried to run the codes yesterday and couldn't get anything to show up.

I'm hoping that someone can tell me whats wrong or if someone in the Northern Illinois area could come out near Rockford and help me out. I don't have much money, but I would be willing to take whoever out to McDonalds and pay for their gas. The car is at my friends house and we should have all the tools needed and it would be in the garage with a 60,000 btu space heater if that helps. Also, the only days really good for me are anytime Friday or Sunday. Saturday I work from 5-9ish so if it could be done anytime then we could work someting out.

Please, someone help me out...

sounds like you mafs if you get the single cam maf you are gonna need to splice that plug on cuz the plugs arnt the same cuz i tried that the other day.
Make sure all the wholes are plugged on the intake piping there is 3 if i remember correctly well 2 if you have the hose still on that runs to the valve cover.

Actually I did swap mafs when I first had this problem and it did nothing. Now that I think of it, it could be possible that when I rewired it for the SOHC mafs I may have forgotten to change it back when I put the SR mafs on. Oh, and that was another thing I forgot to say... I messed with that screw for the IAC and we couldn't get it to make any diffrence. I could try pulling the screw out and then starting from there?

Is it possible that I could be having this problem because of a boost leak or from a bad wiring job?

do a leak down test becuz there might be a leak somewere else.best bet could be ur maf or spark plugs. cuz i have somewat the simalar problem becuz im thinkin its just the cold weather from a cold start though and my car runs fine after its fully warmed up.cuz im pretty sure u have a leak some were cuz ur idle is not stable

my guess would be the mafs wired wrong with a boost leak the car will run and idle cuz the mafs reads either way the only way your car wont idle with a leak is if the leak is between mafs and the turbo as of right now i have no fmic piping hooked up and it idles fine high about 1500 but it idles so count the boost leak idea out

here is the most fool proof way to check the IAC. hook up the consult and go to functional tests. from there you sould be able to adjust the stepper motor in the IAC. if your idle changes when you fuck with it....it's not the IAC
