what's the compression readings? mebbe you just got worn out engine cylinders

check the clutch

My car feels like it is bogged down and slow too, especially in 3rd. Check your clutch, flywheel, transmission, etc. I bet that is what it is.

My na SOHC used to rip, it would easily do high 15's.

Check your timing, maybe replace the cat and catback exhaust. Check your plugs and wires...

Mine to SOHCturbo.. well it's still stock, minus the 75 shot. but yeah. Without the squeeze I ran a 15.9 out at internation (kansas's PREMIERE <--bah track) but yeah. Check timing, I had mine ADVANCED all the way, and it felt the best. just play with timing for yourself though. GL

yeah i was under the same impression that mine sohc was gawd awful slow but i gave it some tlc tune up fluids change replace stock clutch and it was 2x better

still swapped it out for a dohc though :heyhey

His ET doesnt start till he crosses the start line. If he sits there for thirty minutes, then decides to launch, he will still run a 17.4. If someone next to him runs a 17.4 and cut a on minute reaction time, then he lost by 29 minutes. Reaction time matters when youre racing other cars, when youre just looking at what your et is, it is irrelevant.

I worked at a drag strip for almost a year, and the timer doesn't start, untill the beams are broken and the car is on it's way down the track.. don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise..

but my KAE ran high 16s low 17s bone stock, at around 82mph (I think.. can't remember it's been so long) but then again, I also kept my tool box in the car, and had my system in the back, which adds a ton of weight.. race weight was 3110.. :eek4:


oh, and belive it or not, weather plays a pretty big part in your times too.. if you ran in 100* heat it's gonna be slower than in the 50s... humidity also plays into it..
