Installing the PBM Toe arm turned into a 8 hr job today. I decided that it would be good idea to realign the rear's while I'm installing the toe arm, got done with the alignment, only to find out the car raised itself up whole 1 inch going from -4 camber to about -1.8 camber. so went to adjust the rear height only to find rust everywhere on the coilover[I had it covered with bicycle tube to protect it from road dirt/grime]. well, turns out rubber only keeps water in, allowing the coilover to rust. so I had to brush it all off and this time antiseize to the rescue! it's all fine now. this seemed to be better idea then lithium grease on there. I need a real alignment, this eyeballing isn't working out that great any more.

How'd the height change? Did you move the car after putting it down to settle the suspension and let the tires push out? I'm assuming you did but kind of a big mystery why it changed a whole inch.

I did. I had a piece of cardboard under the rear tires and jumped on the trunk after each little adjustments to settle the suspension down.

it's not a anything special, if you think about it, more camber the more the wheel sits at an angle pushing the bottom inner wheel out. thus lower. less camber the more the inner bottom wheel comes back towards the car, more higher.

So your rears were @ 4* the whole time? geez! 1.8* is a good setting...im personally going to run somewhere between 1.2-1.5* in the rear.

@scoot: If you've ever gotten an alignment after coilover install (and the subsequent drop) you will definately notice the change. My car went from 3.7* post coilover to 1.5* and the car went from slightly tucking tire in rear to a full finger of clearance above the tire. All without adjusting the coilovers at all.

Best way ive seen it explained is that you take a ruler and look at it, with the numbers facing you, then tilt the ruler towards you/ away from you and see how the top of the ruler appears lower/higher depeding on how much you angle it. Same thing applies to camber on a car. As the wheel goes more negative, its overall height changes as well.

On my black S14...

installed all the spacers for the tierod shank to see if it'll get rid of the horrid bump steer[spl v3 outter tie rod], and found the air leak on the tire bead on rear finally. I fixed it and here's how I did it.

I deflated the tire all the way, jumped on the sidewall of the tires and pressed down on the spots that were leaking at the bead. filled the tire up to 50psi for just shits and giggles, and no more leak!! LOL @ this fix, but what evers, it worked. I had it sitting there for good 30 mins and didn't see any extra bubbles come out of the tire bead seats and held 50psi, so I put it back on the car

Drifted the black S14 again today, well, I put that fresh painted rear bumper back on and headed to the track.
Last run of the day, I had a disagreement with the rear tires and spun out, and hit the rear bumper on hay stacks, resulting in dragging it to the finish line.
I swear, i am not going to paint that damn rear bumper any more, because every time I get done painting it, i wreck it right away.[kind of awesome]

and I am in need of new steering rack bushings for both of my cars. gay.
anyone got part number for the energy suspension steering rack bushings?

edit: found it.

PBM Big Brake Rotor problems...

I think I have everything installed right, but the caliper doesn't sit in close enough to use all the brake pad's surface. and I am using the 300ZX/Z32 30mm caliper as they stated that it'll work with. has anyone had this problem before..?
