exactly the same as it did on page 5 haha.
i'm not too worried about looks right now, just functionality.
function over form as they say.

okay, so now i've pretty much decided on my tuning option.
I want to go with an eprom setup and run a real-time tune with it.
I've done a lot of reading on these but i'm still lost haha.
i do know i'd pick up a zif socket so it'd make eprom switches much faster.
i'll need a wideband.
some form of emulator.
and a daughterboard (which one is where i'm getting lost at though)

i've been searching but i could really use some help on this. much appreciated.

well i'm a very happy camper.
List of parts on the way:
264 cams
afc neo
AFPR
regulator fitting
header wrap

=]]
it's a big hit on the wallet, but it's been a well thought out decision and i've been saving for quite some time now.
i can't wait till they show up!!!

thanks bro! y'alls support really makes me motivated to get this thing done.
i'm off for a whole week and a half so there's going to a LOT of progress.
i can't wait to pick up my tranny and 5 lug on monday! hells yah!!!!

i've got my head port/polish finished up, now i just have to bead blast it and paint it and it'll be ready for the brian crower cams! i'm degreeing the cam sprockets to where i can adjust the valves to open either advanced or retarded TDC.
wiring up the afc is going to be a PITA.
but it'll be worth it.
i might go ahead and just redo my harness while i'm at it.
i'll decide that when i start tearing into it.

expect a bunch of pictures in the coming days.

Wiring up the AFC isn't as bad as you think it'll be. Just don't solder anything right away incase you make a mistake and you have to go back and switch some stuff up. If you're worried about low end with the headers, think twice now that you're putting cams in there. You're going to have very weak and noticeable loss in the low end, but up top you will make up for that. Just an FYI. Sounds like its going to be a nice fun little build though and I cant wait to see the results. Just make sure you break in that motor and clutch before you start "feelin" out your cams.

oh i know all too well the woes of improper break in haha.
you know those little nitro rc monster trucks?
yah, it's not too terribly expensive to rebuild one of them but when you do it a couple times in just 3 months it adds up.

I just want to hear the damn thing start!

oh man...there's been a lot of cursing at this car.
but it'll definitely be worth it.
I definitely have a lot more appreciation for things now that i've gone through this. I really see the value in a dollar. Puts things in perspective when you have to buy it yourself.

Ya you really learn to respect the car and the knowledge you get from doing all this stuff. Its amazing how quick you can diagnose something when it breaks or if something is acting up. GL with everything man, i know you wont be disappointed!

finished bead blasting the head and front cover tonight.
Word of warning, if you bead blast your cylinder head be prepared to spend a good amount of time getting each and every last one of those god forsaken beads out! they can destroy an engine in no time flat.

It looks really good though, i'm going to run it through the dishwasher tomorrow and quadrupleoctet check to make sure all of the beads are out.
Then tuesday the cams come in and that means....

REASSEMBLY!!!!!! yayyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!11!1!!!!

usually they send it through some form of chemical wash, yes, but that doesn't clean off all the surface imperfections like where a gasket used to be. It also really works down into the small crevices and cleans it to look better than stock.

I'm sure you could, but by the time you've thought that out and built it you could've just blown it out real well with an air compressor, run it through the parts washer, repeat, and then throw it in the dishwasher and get the same results.
