there is a reason japanese everything is more expensive. its imported. taffirs, tax whatever. that, and they dont make 50 billion of everything like american manufactuers do.(excluding mitsu). also, quality. yes there are soem good american parts, but the japanese produce the best, high quality parts hands down.

and RB26 and 2JZ specific, they are not common motors by any means. this goes back to the mass production thing. each of thoes motors were only used in 1 car for its production span. and now both engines are out of production and they will become more rare and priced higher. Unlike the american motors that you can find anywhere, at anytime.

I'd give that award to Germany.

The 2JZ is still used on the is300 and was in a number of different cars.

i agree that germany does have the highest quality i have ever seen their engineering over there is breathtaking.
how bout i rank the countries.

1.germany

last place korea. hahahahahah i am not a judge.

IS300 had a 2JZGE just like NA supras. Not a 1JZ. And RB26's also came in Stagea's. And about America sharing all their engines. You can really say the same about japan, look at the VQ35 for example. Yes the RB26 and 2JZGTE are speciallty engines but so are the new Z06's and the Ford GT's.

I think you're a bit too biased towards Japanese cars. They're my favorite too but I try to keep an open mind.

yes i am probably one of the most biased people when it comes to cars. but i have my reasons. yes i will definatly aggree with the VQ example. my dad has already owned 3 diffrent cars with the same friggin VQ35. ( im sick of it now :)). but i was only reffering to the 2JZ and the RB26.

to be honest, i prefer fords over anything else (DONT FLAME ME, JUST MY OPINION) but nissan and mazda come in close second, because i own both of those brands and they have never given me any trouble. but i also have never driven a german or italian car, but from what i hear, they are insane. i'm with 240maniac, there isnt really a "best," just keep an open mind about things (V8 swap into an s13, anybody?) *cough*...

before i decided on a KA24DET setup, i was actually considering a small-block ford v8 for my s13. the chassis can handle it, but then i remembered all the extra costs of making the suspension handle all them horses, the drivetrain modifications, and all the other small stuff that would need to be done.

yea, german's and other european auto makers do produce top quality stuff, im just not a fan of the style and design that much. there are a few cars i like, not many though. i dont know why but i am not fond of many of their interior designs. im not talking about material qualtiy at all, but the design iteslf. i see a common design in them that just doesnt appeal to me, therefore i love japanese cars.

if i were going to put a v8 into my 240 it would not be a carbed v8.. it would be a v8 out one of the newest camaros or a corvette.
ls6 i believe. i would love to go with an rb or something that would be great except for when something breaks I am fooked hard
