Has anyone heard more on this subject? I was looking into this swap and how often its been done, the pro's & con's and how much can you really put down with the engine. Has anyone heard of anything on the topic though?

Hahaha, yes. Carl H has done the swap over on this forum, and we have 240sxAddict who is in the process of doing the swap and he has a thread on it. If you need to know anything about the swap at all you can ask those two or me.

The motor is a tank. It will put down ~280-300hp and ~280-300tq stock. It is one of the most reliable motors I have ever looked into, plus it's a V8 so you can get enough torques out of it to twist a chassis if you wanted. The costs aren't too high, it is comparable to a nicely done sr20det swap, maybe a little bit more. The biggest problem is the lack of aftermarket support, but if you are looking into such a custom project then that shouldn't bother you too terribly much.

There are a few guys over on NICO that have done the swap, and so far everyone loves it. Search "vh45de" on this forum and you will see a few threads about it, a couple of which have very good amounts of information (look for the thread by 240sxAddict in the "Hybrids" section).
