I am about to purchase a 89 S13. But it has rust holes on both sides of the like side frame. I have pics will ahve them up soon. But i figure a weld job should't be more than 250$ correct? Is it worth it? Wouldn't the frame be stronger after that? Thanks.

I had a big section of the frame rusted out where the frame bends up right behind the driverside front wheel. It was probably beyond the point of fixing but we had it done anyways and it didnt cost a whole lot (dad never told me the price). If you think its worth your time and money to have fixed, by all means fix it. Last thing you need is to be making a hard turn at the track and the frame bend even more from it being rusted out and super weak.

Post pics if you can. Unless the car has some emotional attachment to you, I'd just buy something else. I live in a very wet part of the country so I was afraid the 240 I bought was going to have all kinds of rust problems. Turns out one of the preivous owners had the underside of the car sprayed or something. :thumbsup

I was thinking about sanding it. Then spraying rust remover. Then if needs be weld some sheet metal over where the rust was (but i don't think it's that bad) Fill the hole with around 10 guage steel. Then weld some more strong steel over it like a patch. Maybe some then sheet metal over the bottom after removing rust to prevent future rust?

Changing from a school computer to a home computer can make a world of difference. Doesn't look nearly as bad now. The brightness on the damn school computer is set so low that you just see a big black rectangle at the top of the screen where the s15 on the header is.
But yeah, that can be fixed easily.

I feel a lot better about it now. Here's what im going to do from your guys advice.

Removing all the rust on there.
Filling in the hole with strong steel.
Use rust inhibitor aginast raw surface to prevent anymore rust.
Weld a patch over the hole.
Weld New sheet metal over old rust.
Put more rust inhibitor over new sheet metal

How does that sound?
