Hey everyone I picked up an engine(s14 KA) a little while back and I wanna get started on it. It's gonna be my first build. :dancingna I was lookin at the back and I wasnt sure what would be a good position to mount the four bolts. Stand allows for 360 rotation so it reccomends a good center of gravity.

any suggestions?

Also, it didn't come with the bolts so i was wondering what would be a good, comfortable size.

Revolution240sx used m10 x 1.5 x 100mm bolts but said he wished he'd gotten 90's. Just making sure if 90's would be the sure way to go.

Thanks,

Tomek

i too would like to know where to mount the engine stands onto the engine. my friend said that there are four holes on the side of the block which is for the engine stand. i also put a 13b on an engine stand by connecting it to the back of the engine(where the tranny bolts onto), but after a day, the bottom mount cracked the block! pictures would be helpful ^^

To mount a 13b to an engine stand correctly you ither have to buy an adapter plate or make on that make a 90* tunr and lines up with the mounting points on the first Iron of the motor. Any other area will damage or crack an iron of housing.

you mount your engine stand on the block where the tranny mounts up. and the length of you bolts depends on your engine stand. just get longer and a crap load of washers or a hack saw.

I ended up getting the m10 x 1.5 x 100mm bolts. I was only able to get 9 washers. I don't think it is going to be enough though.

Anyone out there use the m10 x 1.5 x 100mm to bolt up the engine? if so how much washers did you have to use for each bolt?

i did the same thing, sadly i used the longer ones first and then ended up bending i had to replace then i currently when its on the stand use the shorter tranny bolts though its been on the ground for a quite some time as ive been having some issues with the removal of flywheel bolts

yea i just bought the m10x1.5x100mm and used 13 washers for each bolt.

Putting the bolts in where the bell housing go is not a good center of gravity. I turned it over and it was a bitch to turn that thing back over. I gotta start taking all that stuff off.

the tranny bolts were tough as hell for me to so i threw a ton of wd40 and it got me nowhere so i closed up the garage and a month later came back to attach a 27mm to the crank pulley whie turning the flywheel bolts but i was pissed to find out the wd40 sitting their helped so all i used was a breaker bar and the flywheel bolts came off easy
