The convertible top throws off the weight distribution a little bit. Plus people do have to deal with the factor of just owning a rag top and anything that could happen to the top.

i wouldn't mind having a convertible 240. ever sence i drove(did a few donuts) a friends miata, i've wanted a convertible 240 or miata real bad. it's so fun driving with the top down. especially doing donuts. smelling the burning rubber, having the smoke come back at you and your just breathing it in, it's fun. if i were to get a convertible 240 i would do SR, 5 speed, and Silvia S13 front end.

 

I really like the visibility the convertible gives you....especially in a car like the 240, that has pretty big blind spots. And also on the plus side.....girls definitely like the convertible.

 

the sloppy rear end suspension stock is a big thing which most hate on. other than the auto.

but they are rarer and you can have coupe stuff in it and get rid of the slop, and they look sick as hell when they are sil-verts

 

How is the rear suspension different than that of the coupe?
I do notice the roll is pretty heavy in the rear, still good for a stock car, but its far below my hopes/dreams.

With coupe doors, and as long as theyre clean, I think they can look very nice. Those ugly ass seatbelt pillars suck though...

My friend has a vert he is EVENTUALLY going to put an sr into, he has it sitting in the garage, just needs to get off his ass haha.

 

yeah coupe doors def smooth things out, wouldnt want to flip it though; well i doubt those door things would do shit anyways unless you were under 5 ft tall then maybe theyd save you.

Well not exactly. Nissan didnt make them, some other company modified them and Nissan sold them at the dealership.

A convertable is just naturally inferior to its coupe version. More weight, and the aerodynamics are destroyed. I know that would only have an effect up at speed, but it does have an effect.

I've driven one and the handling was somewhat descent. But I drive an olds cutlass ciara as a daily driver so you can see how I would be easily impressed.

Put it this way, I'd rather have camaro than a convertable 240. Even if it was fast.

I guess it also depends on what you want to do with the car.

Also oldsdrifter, camaros are a very well balanced car, not that I like them or anything.

 

Yeah, I know. I used to be a "muscle cars are only good cars" ******* myself and was obsessed with them. I just dont like how damn heavy they are. Of course I guess most new cars have become significantly heavyer than their previous models.

I guess I cant really bash convertables too much. I might be interested in one. lol Im just not sure. I just really want a kouki 240 but have no $$$. Quite a big factor in buying a car I guess.

 

Yeah when you want to buy something, you usually have to have the money.

I think Zenki S14s look better imo, and so I bought one.
