Packed with 800 semi-customizable cars and 35 tracks as well as the ability to trade and race with others over the PSP's ad-hoc connectivity. GT Mobile looks to be the overall winner of the two by offering true portable Gran Turismo gameplay and will be released in October.

Have you played Prologue? I'm thinking of either getting GT5 or NFS Shift. But I'm unsure about which one I should get. I could rent them both when GT5 comes out though. Hmm

I've heard Prologue didn't really live up to its expectations. I only played a demo and liked it, but it was just demo. I'd rather own a full version than a watered-down, full-game-priced version.

thwalker, your child will be in middle school by the time this game comes out (sarcasm) i was oping for gt5, but they keep constantly pushing the release date back, so i just mentally ignored it for now.

why is it that im thinking gt5 will pull a gt4? gt4 was so hyped, and intially it was great, but it lacked a lot of things, and frankly the game is BORING. there is no sense of speed at all. I hope Polyphony makes this game GODLIKE, with all the damn time they have ben spending. All i eally want is a better sense of speed, and connection with the road, much more fleshed out modification options like TXR.

Im still waiting for a mode in a game where you can tune it however you want, using real world settings. Like that game motor city online...you could tune the crap out of your engine...im talking about AEM level options. t was pretty awesome. Basically i want an "Advanced or Expert" option. Instead of that generic "Stage 5" bullshit.

and MOAR power!!!1 i hated how if you picked a lesser car like lets say.. a S14 and fully tuned it. you were limited to430hp MAX! they should make it so that any car can have a assload of power, just add a consequence or just a higher pwoer ceiling.

That's one thing I noticed, too, actually. The FWD cars suffered the most. They gained like 100-200HP at the very most, and that's if the person got lucky. I've always been a big fan of the series since the first came out way back.

I try not to expect much so that I don't kill it with expectations, but at the same time I, too, hold them to a standard. I'm more interested in the PSP version since I'm constantly on the go, but I might start saving up for a PS3 very, very soon.

Honestly I don't complain much when it comes to tuning and a few other things since many other racing games tend to be the same, in the sense that they overwhelm a player's senses in one are, but totally lack in another. In this case, they have a less tuning for the most part, but make up for it in the number of cars they feature, plus the variety in tracks. Add the weather changes, damage, and the integration of WRC and NASCAR and you've got yourself progress.

Tuning and modifications are what I like to do in racing. I like making the car mine. From my research there isn't all that much of it in GT5. According to a few articles that I've read Shift has a shit ton of options for modification and tuning. The article said that you can mod and tune every aspect of the car. So I think that Shift might be just a bit better than GT5. But I havn't played either, so I really can't make a judgement yet.

The 1st GT that I played was GT2 back in the day. And I honestly hated it. Since then I've never picked another one up.

I fucking hate you KAT0. The Forza 3 demo just came out... I'm so happy, and I finally get to play it. I've been waiting for it. Now I have to buy a fucking PS3 because Gran Turismo is always ten times better... Damn you KAT0.

I doubt I'll get a PS3 any time soon. I'll just stick with Forza 3. And hopefully they will put out some crazy awesome add-ons through XBL. Maybe car downloads, track downloads, or even things like a "rally mode" download. The fact that Forza 3 has a clutch in the game even when using the controller is what puts it above all others. I just wish it didn't feel like such an assisted clutch/manual... Either way, Forza 3 has Drifting as a full aspect of the game, so I'm happy haha. And from the feel of the menus and the demo so far it seems like they ripped off GT4 (which is a good thing) and made it better and not NFS-esque.

While talking about Gran Turismo PSP at E3, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi said that in terms of status, Gran Turismo 5 can actually be released any time. They just want to keep polishing it up some more.

"I want to release it as fast as I can, but GT5 for us, when you talk about its status, it's at a point we can release it any time we want, but we can always keep working on it," Yamauchi told Eurogamer. "It's very important for us to make sure everything is done perfectly and everything is done in detail."

Yamauchi also mentioned possible connectivity features for the PSP and PS3 Gran Turismos. One is that players may be able to share garages on both versions so that any car unlocked in the PSP version would immediately become available in the PS3 game.

Gran Turismo PSP arrives on October first as a launch title for the PSP Go. Gran Turismo 5, on the other hand, still does not have a firm release date.
As much as I love their drive for perfection, I don't love their assumption that it's okay to do something like that.

Much less admit it.

wtf, they can release it at any time. wow.

if there is a SINGLE BUG IN THIS FUCKING GAME, i am going to have a kanye fit. Taking this fucking long.... a fucking blank check from sony in terms of $$$ and time, this shit better suck my dick while im playing.

Lucky for me, Forza 3 is coming out October 24th... for sure haha. I would like to have Rally Sport in the game though. :( Dirt2 is just WAY too fake for me.

Same here, i only really paly to tweak about 5 cars (including my s14 that i make sig pics with) and do a lap or two, and turn it off and play SOCOM lol.

Amuse S2000 street version is so much win. I love that car.. :1bowdown and im trying to tune the over steer out of my NSX-S, i added the roll cage and that kind of fucked up the balance of the car. Seems that the cages ALWAYS add a ton of oversteer to the cars.

I have around 500 cars and I decided to individually tweak each and every one. A fucking year later I still have a few to go. Granted I didn't tweak a few a day or even one a day, I did have momentary breaks between each session. I guess since I haven't had a shitload of tuning experience with other games I'm used to and satisfied by what Gran Turismo has always offered. The only real thing that gets to me is how with every new game the settings change and the way you tweak the cars isn't consistent. I have to learn how to effectively tweak anew every time.
