what's the point of keeping those bumper when the support/mounting plates are almost non-existent. it wont resist a crash at all that way.

my favorite is Ruskers, custom core and endtanks, fit right where the A/C unit did infront of the radiator, sleeperific too

lol @ plasma cutter w/ guides. no one can see the bumper support so why bother trying to make it perfect?


edit: nevermind, i took another look at your picture. didnt realize you cut it like that. still you weakened it so damn much its probably useless anyway
 
i hate to say it, but if you get into a front end collision, it doesnt matter, no matter what, your gonna havta buy a new intercooler, and if your worried about your engine in your lap, you dont know how little the bumper support does..the frame rails keep that from happenin. Cut bumper support for the win

(this post was vague and generalized, bumper support does protect, and reduce the severity. FMIC, will still be destroyed, look at SRT-4s for examples)

he is right i used to have a blitz in my old s13 and got it in with out cutting the "crash bar" and i was driving real early in the morning a i hit a huge deer that ran out right infront of me ... my bumper support bent around my fmic.... of course my fmic mounts bent but the core wasent to bad really just damage that the crash bar did to it....

if the mounts for the fmic are beefer i wouldent be surprised if it was better than the crash bar for the area that it covered since it doesnt cover the corners
