Wow, congrats on the progress. Getting parts in the mail is ALWAYS fun.

Here are some comparison shots I took for a buddy to convince him the OEM rad. is worthless. If you haven't bought a Koyo, start saving.
I am going to get the Volvo OEM radiator. Just as good as the Koyo, for a lot less.

I can't wait to start on my car. It will be a while though. New house is going to be a handful to furnish. :tears

i get my catback tommotow in the mail. looking at that koyo makes me sad its so pretty. i ordered a koyo copper rad, it doesnt look even close to as nice :(. but it has been proven to outperform aluminum so i am happy :)

Well, I went to a few junkyards and could not find any volvos that still had the radiators. Since I can't check them out very often because how far I have to drive, I really didn't have a choice.. if you figure I have to drive 60miles each way.... I could have made the $295 pretty quickly doing some overtime at work. :heyhey

I really wanted to save a few bucks, but I wasn't very lucky in the yards and everyone I contacted about the copper was out for a few weeks. Oh well.. no complaints from me. :thumbsup

If you can take a few comparison pics like I did with the Aluminum. What catback did you end up going with? I just my catback awhile ago, just haven't gotten any pics of it. I kind of just threw it in the back of the 240 and forgot about it.

Oh yeah. You will be happy. Copper disipates heat better than aluminum. Although silver(And plat better than silver.) is better than copper the cost doesnt justify the performance increase. They should make a rad that has aluminum fins and cooper piping. So you get the looks *and* the performance.

Yeah, I know how that goes. I try to mod my car as inexpensive as possible, yet sometimes it just doesn't work out. Heck, I spent almost $300 trying to diagnose my KA24E engine issue. What a waste. :(

Keep us updated with pics. Your car looks EXACTLY like mine...even spoilerless. :thumbsup

Prelude Guy:

$300 to diagnose the KA? Ouch. Well, hopefully some of that money went into buying tools you never had. My whole idea with this project is I didn't want to just buy stuff because of the brand. I plan on eventually have a list of what everything cost me. I just don't think I want to start adding anything up yet considering how far I've gone in the swap, and how much is left.

Mtndrifter14:

I'll be waiting for some pics of your progress as well. Let me know if you needed somewhere to host them. I should be getting my own webspace here soon instead of borrowing space.

240-kid: Well, my deadline has been to get this car running sometime in the early spring. I wasn't in a hurry during the winter because I know I'm pretty lazy when it comes to working on the car. Now that the weather is getting better, I'm pretty pumped to get this bitch on the road.

Grey240drift: I should have some pics of some of the cleaning and repainting of my engine bay soon. Nothing special, just taking care of some surface rust. Got the car running?

dbhittin: Hey, hows it going! I signed your guestbook on cardomain. Good stuff man!
