No Gauges, windows, blinkers, or locks

It's an 89 S13. I have none of the above. It makes it quite hard to not worry about getting pulled over, have my stuff stolen, or even simply smoke. I checked all the fuses and everything was kosher. I had a friend with a coupe that had similar issues that were caused from the harnesses run through the fenders and I checked that as well. There were a few rubbed wires and a couple that were pretty much not connected. I reconnected and taped everything to see if that was the issue. Nothing has allowed me to have my locks, winshield wipers, gauges or windows work as of yet. I'm completely lost and I don't know where else to start.

Should have put this in the tech section first off. Have you check all you connections? Take a volt meter to everything. Start at the gauges and work back to where you gain power again. Have you changed anything with in the time that this has happened. As in what work have you done. Make sure you didn't kick anything loose under the dash. Also check your chassis ground if you lost that all sorts of weird shit happens.

I would've put this in a different section but I don't have permission yet. Also I have checked the power from the fusebox for the blinkers and they don't get any power. The locks will in-gauge but as soon as I shut the door they unlock. I haven't followed that back yet. I found the wiper problem as the green box had corroded connectors and that's all that has to be replaced. As for the rest of the gauges I am at a loss. I took out the cluster and checked if everything was fine behind it, which it was, but now my clock doesn't even show time.

Thanks, I'll do that tomorrow. I was driving to a junk yard today to get the green box for the wipers, and on the way back I pushed it to only about 5200 then I hear my backfire followed by clouds of white smoke.

I thought I blew the HG right away because I tried to give it a little from 2400 and it just felt like nothing. I got to my garage and popped the hood only to see a little oil. I didn't reach right into the turbo to feel for any play but as soon as I got home I ordered a Cosworth 87mm x 1.5mm HG. I figure if it isn't the problem when I dig into it tomorrow after work it's worth while to change out seeing as I plan on having 350 whp by the end of next summer.

I just went outside to take a look at it and saw a couple tiny puddles of oil in 2 different spots under the rack. That pretty much secured my thought of the HG being blown but tomorrow will bring more inspection. Hopefully after finally getting this car on the road after 3 years I can actually have it a solid daily driver within the next month.

about the electricals... im not sure if the s13 is the same as s14, but make sure there is a 7.5 fusible link around there somewhere, when i took mine out, nothing worked, dome lights, gauge, door, mirrors, blinkers, nothing. Also, if you have the fan wired to run all the time by conecting it to the ignition fuse, that might be the problem as well. but like i said, this happened to me on an s14 not s13

I have a hardwired fan to a switch so that's not an issue. Also, yesterday I went to hook up the new wiper relay(green box) and thought that was the issue considering the one I had in there was corroded to hell. I go to flip them on to test and nothing. Obviously that's tied into this issue as well. I also tried hooking up a deck quick as a temporary thing until my friend finished my in-dash computer but that had no power at all. I obviously have to go through every wiring diagram and trace it to the 1 source that's causing all this. I don't get it though, all fuses are good and everything else works. Maybe I should just skip trying to find the problem and rewire everything? The only thing that's holding me back from that is it is a short somewhere and I don't feel comfortable leaving it like that.

As far as the HG I haven't gotten it yet(thought I was smart by getting express USPS only to realize today is Sunday). I started it again today just to listen for more clues to prove my theory of that being the problem and it sounds like it's running on 3 cylinders. Is this because the compression is pretty much f'ed? That's the only thing I could come up with. I tried yesterday to feel for any play in the turbo but I couldn't reach it without removing anything. I didn't have the time/tools considering I wasn't at my garage. I have had this fear since I ordered the Cosworth that the turbo might be the issue. The only thing that convinces me otherwise without testing is the sound of the motor at idle/low rpm. I am also concerned that I may have a busted bearing.

Sorry for the rant, I'm done!

Well, like I said im not too familiar with the s13 . But on my s14 I had the same problem, nothing would turn on(except for the car) and it turned out to be the 7.5 fusible link.. If I plugged it (fusible link) in while the hardwired fan to ignition was present, nothing would work, once I disconnected the cable that went from the fan fuse to the ignition fuse, ( and plugged in the 7.5 link) everything worked for me.
Not sure if that helps
