I just recently bought a 93 convertible s13... as everyone knows they have the coupe rearend. i am thinking about converting my taillights over to the s13 hatchback tail lights.. alot of you would probably think this is stupid, but i really like the hatch lights better then the coupe lights.. I dont know if anyone has ever done this before, because I could not find anything at all about in when I searched. If anyone has done this or knows of someone or know where theres a thread about it please let me know.. and also give your opinion about the idea. i have done the measurements yet to see if they will even fit, but i think they will be ok...

i know that i will have to do some work with moving the trunk lock, but thats not a big deal..

If you are actually serious about doing this I would just go all out and use the hatch kouki tails. If anything that would look the best. I still don't agree with it though.

Im not sure exactly which style of hatch lights im gonna go with, definitly not the stock ones. I mainly just like the shape of the hatchback lights.. When i think of a 240, thats what i think of.. the coupe lights remind me of an integra or prelude... and i hate them.. I dont know, its just an idea and I like to be different.:12dunno

look at the 240sx forums logo... the only detailed feature are the hatch taillights.. they are a focal point

but s13 coupes never came w/that line on the rear qp, which leads me to believe that someone hacked the roof off that s14. zenki s14's did come w/4lug, mayb the owner came up on a set of s13 se wheels & threw om on as a thrasher set?

s14 convertable? have i missed something?
Yeah I guess I stated that kind of awkward. There was a s15 convertible and coupe but only s14 coupe. I'm pretty sure the s12 was a coupe as well. Back to the OT, your going to end up spending more time and money on a tail light conversion then it would take to buy an actual hatchback. Just suck it up and come to the dark side. Everyone hates a da9 replica.

^^ or instead of getting a hatch or its tailight housings, you could just get some origin/dmax lights for your coupe. i bought a pair of knockoffs from zoku racing on ebay for about 100bux shipped. they dont leak & look really good. then i proceeded to replace the 4 bulbs for the brake lights with superbrightleds.com 20led 1156 bulbs. i love the way these tails look w/the led's @ night. there pretty bright with the sun on em too. & thats only bout 130bux w/the housings & leds. if its even possible to mount the hatch tails on your coupe its gonna be atleast 1k in labor & materials. & dont go over to the darkside, the coupe may look like a da integra @ first glance, but atleast it wont be mistaken for a ford analprobe (no offense hatch owners, i still got love for ya). & the coupes are more structurally rigid & weigh less because the glass on the hatch is way bigger than the coupes. just my 2cents

I cant be the only one who thinks this would be cool.. i know that the coupes are more squared off and that it would take some fabricating.. but the length and height isnt far off. i have a hatch back too, so its not like im going through withdrawls or anything.. i just think this would look cool.. i know its not gonna be a walk in the park, i didnt make this thread for ppl to tell me how hard it would be, i just wanted oppinions on if ppl would like this look or not..

There is a difference between "Cool" and a stupid amount of fabrication for no gains.

This subject falls into the last category.

If you want to do it, get out the Sawz-all and have at it....

i think everyone should cut off their exhaust, cut their springs, weld their diff and start drifting until everyone dies or gets good at driving
