I need an electrical 240 guru haha. Ok so with a battery hooked up with the key in the off position everything is fine. When i turn it on everything is fine minus not starting due to bad starter. but when i turn the key back to the off position nothing turns off? all the little leds on the cluster stay on like the brake and battery etc... Do you think the ignition is bad? and i still cant get my lights to go up or down. I put new motors in from a junkyard car. Yea i know they might be bad but still. iv tried the little brush thingy where you take the tops off the motor and bend the brushes but that doesnt do anything. any ideas? iv searched and cant find alot

You are not the first person this has happened too amigo. I had/have this same problem and others have had it too. I found that it is an accessory relay that is not clicking off when the key is set to the of position. I figured this happens from tapping into wires to run gauges and other things and the circuit being tapped might be pulling to much and doing something to the relay contacts. Or I could be totally wrong. Now what I did was replace the accessory relay. This one is on the driverside floorboard. You see your fuse panel.. then there is a cluster of wires all running into a square plastic wire separator above the fuse panel. Ok so now you get a 10mm socket and loosen that stuff up and pull it out a few inches if you can. behind there is a brown relay and I think a green or blue relay. Replacing the bigger relay is the one that fixed my problem. The skinny/smaller one is for the rear defroster. I got some used relays from the junkyard and replaced that one and the one under the hood. Under the hood just look under the relay cover to find the one under the hood on driver side I think. Now that being said I still have it happen time to me from time to time and I have to turn the car on (engine) and then back off and the lights go off. It's weird and I'm sure I developed some other issues in all the crap thats happened to me but most are fine when just replacing those relays. If you were to see the voltage being drawn when you turn off the car it would be 3 or 4 millivolts which is like nothing but over a week or two it would draw down a good battery to a very weak state if not dead. So get a starter and some relays!

I'm not too sure. Maybe some other relays just swap them all lol. It still happens to me from time to time so I haven't quite figured it out perfect yet. If you were to try to find it yourself on a schematic you would look for all the circuits that have power with the key in the position 2 accessory position. Something in there or a relay in there is not turning off.

ok i have a question been goin bannas with the test light all morning. When i turn the ignition on all relays activate, and when i turn ignition off ignition relay deactivates but ignition is still getting power. im thinking i have a wiring issue do you think its thw switch from the colum not sending the signal or do i have the wires crossed from the sr swap?
