I really dont get any lag with my setup, i hit full spool at around 2800rpm and it holds well to redline. its an amazing turbo which is why i cant wait for some dyno numbers.

right now im at 9psi at the wastegate, but i plan for more once its broken into and tuned for 550cc injectors. my injectors are about to be sent off to get cleaned and flow tested, and once they arrive im going to install them and take a trip with Marshall over to Z Fever to get tuned and dynoed for whatever i can get on 93 octance.

e85 is for later. i mean if i hit my 400whp mark with 93 octane (doubt it) then ill probably just chill there for a while. if and when i get a bigger turbo (read: gt35) ill do it.
 
great... once again my SR has to wait for a KA to catch up... waiting on a KA for dyno time...

come on then, we'll be going to Martin @ Z Fever in N Tampa... there's gonna be a few other people come to watch my car get dyno'd... there's a lot of local interest in the numbers i'll be making...

sadly, no one gives a shit about Tims KAT numbers... except maybe Tim.... and his mom....

should be pretty sweet, 2 S14's posting over 300whp, one KAT, and one SR... should turn out pretty cool... and Tim's gonna LOVE how smooth the dyno tune is... i know i love mine... smooth as butter...

blackzenki82 (4:44:54 PM): you want to do it yourself, hence the reason i'm going to laugh in your face... you need to get it tuned more more than just injectors and boost... turbo flow, exhaust/intake flow... even timing tables during the flow, you need to calculate compressor trims and factor that in the tune... you just want to boost at 12AFR and cruise at 14.7.... FAIL... so like i said, i, as well as everyone else will laugh so hard in your face when you L3375k33t boost and blow your shit up.. i know i will, no pity...

Martin isn't the Jesus Christ of 240sx's... He knows his shit, but I know plenty of other people as knowledgeable or even more so. Street tunes are just as good as dyno tunes. How do professional tuners become pro's? They practice! I'm sure Martin has messed up a car or two in his career, and contrary to popular belief he wasn't born writing rom tunes. It is definitely possible to learn how to tune your own car, and that makes it even better when it performs how you want it to.
 
i wasn't saying Martin was the end all, but he IS a professional...

what i was trying to tell tim, without him listening, was to get his car dyno tuned, THEN work on his own tune with the professional one to fall back on... that way, if for some odd reason, he messes soemthing up and needed to start over, he could just load the "Martin" tune, inbetween, so he car has no half tuned downtime...

that's the route i'm going, as i want to learn my ECU as well (we both have similar realtime ECUs), but i want something save and RIGHT to fall back on, not some previous tune of mine that only "worked".... so my game plan, get it dyno tuned, so i have a good solid tune to fall back on, and then fuck with my own tuning, and learn how to do it in the process, then, when alls said and done, load a compare map, and see how close i am...

Tims got a weirdly modified KA, super low compression, custom built turbo with no listed flowrates, so there's no real existing point of reference for him to go to.. so now, he'll basically be nose in the book, hand on the keyboard learning as he goes along.. much like myself when i start fucking with it...

it's best IMHO to go ahead, and have a professional do the tune on the ready in case you need it, rather than going through trial and error, trying to find things that work and don't......

that and he wont have any solid power numbers, just some Tim K L33t5K337 estimate 500WHPZOMGKATFTMFW... butt dyno's FTW!!!





EDIT: see my sig? he said that after driving my MY own tune, yeah it felt great, was fast as fuck, but Martin changed so much shit it wasn't even funny... justy cause it worked, doesn't mean it was right... i'm glad i had a professional look at it and dyno tune it, it may be a bit slower now cause it's only tuned for like 7-8PSI, but it's just so buttery smooth across the whole powerband and RPM range...
